A Compromise

Since UCLA banned the Song Girls and band from playing at Pauley Pavilion, perhaps a compromise can be struck for next year's game at the Galen Center. UCLA can bring its cheerleaders and leave its band behind. in return, incoming USC guard Romeo Miller can perform at halftime at Pauley Pavilion.

No way, no how will the athletic dept. allow that. Remember, they have espoused an ignoramus principle in regards to the failure of the Song Girls. What we don't know won't hurt us. If we didn't know how much more attractive the UCLA Dance Girls are, then we wouldn't know how bad ours really are.

And plus, it would just be way too embarrassing. The Pac 10 Life Basketball Tourney this year showed such a disparity of attractivenes. We need to improve the Song Girls before we can even have them in the same room.

I love the way it is now. No more Cal Junior's fight song, no more of its women in Galen, and thus we can have full concentration on the game. Just the way it should be. And forget Romeo unless he can truly play ball.

Lil Romeo might be ok with that. He significantly increases his chances of ever seeing the court if he performs.

I have an even better compromise for when we play UCLA at the Galen Center:

1) We tell the Song Girls to take the day off.
2) We ban the UCLA band from entering the Galen Center.
2) We have the UCLA Dance Team perform.

Everyone is happy in that scenario.

After the extended discussion this summer we now know why UCLA banned USC's Song Girls from entering Pauley Pavillion...but allow Oregon's Song Girls.

UCLA bans USC Song Girls from performing at Pauley Pavilion? Wait a second, maybe they're onto something.
