Anno Departs
USC assistant coach Sam Anno, who handled the kickers and long-snappers for the past three seasons, resigned to become an assistant coach at Central Connecticut State.
Anno, a former USC linebacker, will coach linebackers and special teams at Central Connecticut. The school's head coach is former USC defensive line coach Jeff McInerny while former USC defensive lineman Ryan Nielsen is the defensive coordinator and former USC offensive lineman Jacob Rogers is the offensive line coach.
Anno's departure leaves the Trojans with a void on the staff just two weeks before training camp.

Good luck Sam!!
You would think he might give a little more notice. Quitting in late July seems very lame, although this news was reported several weeks ago, so perhaps PC knew it was coming.
Scott,
Did you switch up your meds up this month or something? First the April 2007 press release; then South Florida not being a BCS school; and, now you have Sam Anno as an assistant coach.
Anno was the video assistant in 2007. He hasn't been a grad assistant since 2006.
Wow.
Hey Scott... Do you know how I might apply for that job? My qualifications are not being distracted by any of the current USC song girls, a skill I can easily pass on to the kickers and snappers, ensuring that they won't screw up under pressure.
The departure of Anno is a big PLUS for the special teams which imho were consistenely the weakest link in the program over recent years.
