It's about time we went back to Oregon. I mean, what was the deal with Eastern Washington?

Anyway, good job, Scott. The Oregon cheerleaders are clearly the best in the country.

Fight on, Ducks!

Totally agree, Oregon has the best cheerleaders. This picture, however, seems a bit distant and doesn't seem to be loading properly. No matter, I would take a small picture from far away of the Oregon cheerleaders over anything to do with the USC Song Girls from this decade.

Good stuff. Oregon has very toned cheerleaders, perhaps someone at SC should take notice.

I was wondering where the pictures of the Oregon cheerleaders had gone the past few days. Welcome back, girls. I am hopeful that someday the Song Girls will be at the same level as these girls.

Two stories on Oregon cheerleaders:

http://blogs.sltrib.com/recruiting/

Looks like Cottonwood High lineman John Martinez can't be swayed by promises of extraordinary looking cheerleaders.

A few weeks ago at the Nike Combine, I asked the 6-foot-4, 267-pound offensive lineman about the craziest sales pitch he has heard while being recruited by 25-30 of the top college football programs in the country.

"I got a letter from Oregon saying they have the hottest cheerleaders in the country," Martinez said. "Arizona sent one of those, too. I got a kick out of them."

Apparently, though, they didn't work.

Martinez told the Web site buckeyesports.com recently that he has pretty much narrowed his choices to four schools, and the Ducks and Wildcats aren't on the list.

Who is?

Ohio State, USC, UCLA and LSU.

Martinez, a four-star prospect according to scout.com, made an unofficial visit to Ohio State's senior advanced camp on June 20 and spent a few days in the Columbus area. He was impressed enough to add the Buckeyes to his list.

"I could see myself going there," he told the site.

Scout.com ranks Martinez as the No. 3 offensive guard prospect in the nation.

Back in the early 1990s, the duckers already had some of the hottest cheerleaders in the country. My niece was on that squad, and I had to go to a motherducker game because of a lost bet with her. I did get an invitation to spend the pregame with the ducker cheerleaders, and I anxiously awaited that part of the day. It ended up being about the 2 longest hours of my life, as I was constantly hearing them gripe about their boob size or their boyfriend screwing their best friend or ... They were the dumbest group of females that I have ever been around--except my niece, of course who is a genius except for her decision to become a ducker.

About Inside USC

Scott Wolf has covered USC for the Daily News since 1996. A USC graduate, he covered his first Trojan game in 1984 for the Daily Trojan. Scott is known as the "scourge of the Internet message boards," according to radio host Petros Papadakis. Despite this moniker, there's no truth to the rumor he takes pleasure in antagonizing the "Internet geeks."
