Sorry for the double post, but like Scott, I get real lazy during these dog days of summer and don't always do the right thing.

Hot dang! That is precisely why no one can dislike Oregon. Unbelievable cheerleaders. The best in the country. No Song Girl this decade has even come close.

They are the epitome of what cheerleaders are supposed to look like. Beautiful and toned. They all have a wholesome and All-American look.

Fight on, Ducks!

Simply amazing. The Oregon cheerleaders are by far the best and most beautiful cheerleaders this fine country of ours has. They are very beautiful, have hard and fit bodies, and just exude class and dignity.

Now compare that to the Song Girls from this decade -- embarrassing behavior, both on and off the field, overweight and unattractive. The gap between the Oregon cheerleaders and USC Song Girls has been so vast this decade, unless major changes are made to the leadership of the Song Girls (translation: fire the coach and advisor), the Song Girls will continue to be an embarrassing mess.

Yet more beautiful and wonderful Oregon cheerleaders. None of the Song Girls from the 2000s look anywhere near as good as the girls in this picture. It looks like Barbie moved from Malibu up to Eugene this decade and she doesn't look like she's ever moving back.

That girl on the left is simply phenomenal. None of the Song Girls these past eight years have come close. Not even close. The Oregon cheerleaders are the best!!!!

What happen to today's USC songgirls. I might move to Oregon just for the cheerleaders. Thanks Scott.

Is there still anyone out there who thinks the people who head the Song Girls are doing a competent job?

Of course, I'm asking everyone but the athletic dept. who seem to think corruption and nepotism is the best way to run the squad.

Let's be fair. You can't say ALL of the song girls in the past 8 years have been unattractive and/or out of shape. There have been some that were very attractive although I don't know any names except Teni. Her picture is a regular on wearesc.
I would match her against any we've ever had wear the sweater.

The following are the only pretty Song Girls in the 2000s who also had "The Look" that Dolly Zachary Rouse claimed was imperative to being a Song Girl:

1) Whitney (coach's daughter): 2000-2002
2) Shannon: 2002
3) Jacquelyn: 2004
4) Jenn: 2004-2005
5) Kim: 2004-2006
6) Natalie (coach's daughter): 2005-2006*
7) Erica: 2006
8) Lindsey: 2008-present
9) Keli: 2008-present

*This one is kind of a coin toss since sometimes she is pretty, but from certain angles, not so much. I'll give her the benefit of the doubt here and include her.

Some notes:

1) This is the definitive list of ALL the pretty Song Girls from the 2000s that also had "The Look" which is considered imperative to be a Song Girl.
2) If you are not on this list or someone who think should be on it, you are wrong. This is the definitive list and is not open to discussion nor interpretation.
3) The list is clearly not all blondes, as there are a couple of brunettes who clearly have "The Look."
4) Yes, the 2008 squad has a couple of members on the list, but before people start getting excited, there are actually 14 members on the 2008 squad. 2 out of 14 is not exactly glory days material, is it?
5) So we have a total of nine pretty Song Girls with "The Look" out of about 80 or so in the 2000s? That's pretty sad.

Teni did not have "The Look." Song Girls are supposed to look wholesome and All-American. Ethnic Armenian girls go against everything Dolly Rouse espoused for what made a Song Girl. Besides, when did looking like a Gummy Bear translate to being a pretty girl?

Agree with the list above by Trojan in DC. I looked over the pictures in the media guides and you are spot-on. No argument from me. Shannon from 2002 was very good. Too bad her tenure on the squad was so short.

TrojaninDC, I'm glad you've given Erica her due. I thought she was one of the best this decade but she never got much publicity. And she left after 1 year. I guess she was just too attractive to be on the squad which is why they probably cut her.

Excellent list, TrojaninDC. No argument here. It looks like we have a 10% Look rate, or in new SG stats parlance, our Pillsbury average is .100. That is pitiful and pathetic. Any coach in any sport in the country would be fired if their players only succeeded 10% of the time. We must raise our Pillsbury %. We must change the system. We must change the admin staff. We must do so now!

Agreed, excellent and accurate list by TrojaninDC. I cannot disagree with that list there. Those are the only pretty Song Girls in an otherwise miserable decade.

Nine pretty girls out of 80 or so girls is pathetic. The 1997 squad had eight members and all eight were either pretty to beautiful. So to have nine pretty Song Girls TOTAL in an entire decade, that's embarrassing.
