Rick on USC

| | Comments (6) |

UCLA coach Rick Neuheisel and Pete Carroll fielded questions about the crosstown rivalry on Thursday, and Neuheisel is embracing the challenge of living next door to USC.
``I think you have to embrace it,'' Neuheisel said. ``They're the elephant in the living room. They've earned it. They've done an unbelievable job. Pete is to be commended what's taken place there the last six to seven years. The transformation from middle of the pack to not just leader of the pack but leader of the country. You can't be a coach at UCLA and not find a way to compete and be successful with USC. That's part of the deal. The good news is that when we catch them and I say when, we'll not only have caught the leader of the pack but the program that can rightfully challenge for the big prizes.''

"The good news is that when we catch them and I say when, we'll not only have caught the leader of the pack but the program that can rightfully challenge for the big prizes". In otherwords, I have found a new way to create a supply $$$$ to these L.A. High School kids, and they will be glad to sign up for my neighborhood pool. And the NCAA will be none the wiser, says the "Neu-weasel". By the way, glad to see that your tailbacks are not making the grade Slick-Rick. Fight On!

The only good thing about Slick Rick, is that we will all savor the victories that much more. There's only so much pleasure a man can get from stomping on a Dorrell coached team. Now, it's not only business; it's personal!

Ahhhh, Slicky Ricky seems to be quite confident. I suppose he's confident because he has former USC coaches. Well, Slicky Ricky, RIP and thanks for the bulletin board material.

Flattery? Slick Rick will continue sucking up to Pete Carroll and USC within the limits allowed the UCLA coach. The moment Pete announces his departure Slick will be buzzing Mike Garrett to proclaim himself a full blooded Trojan: “Mike, you know I graduated from USC Law and L-O-V-E USC don’t you? Remember all the nice things I said? Let’s do lunch! You can join my NCAA tournament pool! I’ll bring Norm Chow with me!”
BTW Jill, can you have Wolf fired?

Brick,
You are loco… except for the part about getting Wolf fired. Maybe the DN can make it a package deal with Wolf and El Capitán.

Hey, Wolfie, tell your boy Dohn to write this quote down and keep it handy. I got a feeling he'll be needing it in a few years.

About Inside USC

Scott Wolf has covered USC for the Daily News since 1996. A USC graduate, he covered his first Trojan game in 1984 for the Daily Trojan. Scott is known as the "scourge of the Internet message boards," according to radio host Petros Papadakis. Despite this moniker, there's no truth to the rumor he takes pleasure in antagonizing the "Internet geeks."
