Uniform Watch
A Texas football website lists USC's uniforms as the fourth-best in the nation. You'll be shocked to see who finished first.
As for the Trojans, it says, ``If you saw a high school team with those wide yellow should stripes on the jersey or the double stripe on the pants you'd think they were ugly but Southern Cal somehow pulls it off.''

It was great to see the all the "Forest Gumps" from Texas bash on the Cardinal & Gold, while they praised the convict "Orange" jumpsuits of Uof "Marijuana-Texas" (all my ex-heffer live in Texas). Allowing those idiots in Austin to put together a list like this, is like saying that Ricky-Cedric Ben-Williams only goes out on a boat for nice day of fishing and breathing fresh clean air. You just know its not the truth. Fight On!
The writer of this list seems very conflicted. Before the quote Scott posted above, the author states that USC's uniforms are "Probably the ugliest best uniform out there. Despite not really being particularly nice to look at (in my opinion), there’s just something right about them."
If they're ugly, and they aren't appealing to your eye, why did you bother to put USC's uniforms on the list at all?
The author further trips over his own words with his closing line, "They’re not pretty but they’re perfect and I’m not sure why." You've got to be kidding me. You can't possibly put these uniforms at #4 in the country if you talk about them like this. I just don't get it.
All of this is besides the obvious point that the writer shamelessly put Texas as the #1 uniform in the nation. Their road uniforms are what the author cites as the reason for their elite ranking. You can't be more proud of your road uniforms than your home uniforms and claim to have the best. It just doesn't work that way.

@Juice: The important thing to note is that this is a list of the best uniforms in college football, not necessarily the best looking. Maybe USC's history as a program sways me but even though I'm not particularly fond of the look of USC's uniforms there's something about them that makes them a college football icon.
And I'm not sure how putting Texas at number one is shameless when any list of top college uniforms will have Texas somewhere near the top. As I stated on my site, less than a year ago SI put them at number one right above Michigan.
Thanks for the link Scott.
Brian,
This is not an attempt to call you out in any way, I'm just trying to understand your logic. How does one go about assembling a list of the "best uniforms in college football, not necessarily the best looking." What exactly did you judge the uniforms by in order to determine their ranking if you didn't rank them on looks? From what I can tell, you picked 5 relatively prestigious national-level universities with attractive uniforms and put them on a list. I'm just not quite sure what differentiated numbers 2 through 5.
You seem to have given Michigan the #2 slot based solely on their helmets. As for USC, it's the only one on the list that you don't think actually looks good. Also, I am eagerly awaiting an explanation as to why USC is able to "pull off", as you so eloquently put it, the cardinal and gold while a high school team with the same uniforms would be "ugly".
I admit that Texas has some really good looking road uniforms, and definitely deserving of top-10 status. But I said it before and I'll say it again, there's something wrong about ranking a team based on its road uniforms. Sure, you may be backed by SI with your top two, but that doesn't necessarily make it right.
Hey, we may just end up agreeing to disagree, but I'd love to hear back from you.

During the Hackett era, USC would not have made this Texas-based list. When you're good, everything you do feels like warm apple pie.
