About Inside USC
Scott Wolf has covered USC for the Daily News since 1996. A USC
graduate, he covered his first Trojan game in 1984 for
the Daily Trojan. Scott is known as the "scourge of the Internet
message boards," according to radio host Petros Papadakis. Despite this
moniker, there's no truth to the rumor he takes pleasure in
antagonizing the "Internet geeks."

How does the following scenario sound as the solution to solve the Song Girl crisis of this decade and bring the squad back to its former glory:
New coaches: Tricia Pillsbury & Dolly Zachary Rouse. Will make sure beauty is paramount and uncompromising. Ms Rouse will not surrender to any notion of political correctness with her no-nonsense, brutal and completely uncompromising style, assuring that "The Look" returns to the Song Girls following a decade-long absence.
New advisor: Celeste Fremon. Serves as a watchdog to make sure no nepotism, cronyism and unethical behavior takes place or is tolerated. Is the voice of reason and fairness.
These three are all Song Girls from the golden era with a proven track record, so wouldn't it make sense that they should be in charge of this great American institution, that has fallen on hard times, rather than a former Flag Girl?
In 1988, Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young recorded a song written by Neil Young called "American Dream" which was about the decline of an American institution and featured the line "How could something so good go bad so fast?" Could that not be used as an appropriate theme song for the USC Song Girls in the 2000s?
Do you think the current coach of the Song Girls will claim that Tricia Pillsbury's invitation to the year's Song Girl reunion was "lost in the mail," so that Ms Pillsbury will not show up and completely embarrass every Song Girl from the 2000s?
Are the USC Song Girls getting farther away from what they used to be and closer to being a clone of the Stanford Dollies?
Scott,
This spring I was overseas and then came back for immediate back surgery. In that time, it appears that something caused this song girl issue. Can briefly tell me what happened?
With the depth and quality at the LB spot this season, how would you rank this group of LB's versus previous LB crews. Fight On!
Scott,
How is Gallippo progressing at this point? I know I have asked about him from an earlier forum, but I just wanted to be updated.
True or false - the Oregon cheerleaders of today are what the USC Song Girls were in the 1970s to 1990s?
Dear TrojaninDC,
The answer is no, USC had much better talent in those eras than Oregon has today. But the real talent, and the model to follow is over at UCLA, have you seen them? they are UNREAL!
How is recruiting for the 2010 football class going?
carrob:
Gee, do you really think we don't all know you're a ucla fan? Your posts all say the same thing, so try not to make it so obvious.
For the record, Oregon's cheerleaders are MUCH better than the ucla dance team. As for ucla's actual cheerleaders, they're not that impressive; only ucla's dance team is good. Oregon's cheerleaders are better than all of them.
What do you consider to be the bigger problem at USC, football players getting arrested for sexual assault and having other legal troubles or the decline of the Song Girls in the 2000s?
Scott, could you get me a photo pass for the homecoming game so I can document the Song Girls of the past 40 years for readers of this blog?
Failing to do that, could you make sure the Daily News photogs get the goods on the 40th Reunion of the Song Girls?
Projected starting QB Mark Sanchez was spotted carousing in Las Vegas this weekend by several eyewitnesses. Relax Trojan fans, he was actually caught attending the musical JERSEY BOYS solo at the new Palazzo Casino. Oddly enough, Sanchez was also seen watching A CHORUS LINE by himself at the Ahmandson Theater in LA recently.Should USC football fans be concerned that their field general secretly enjoys lavish off Broadway musicals? Can someone with these fancy interests lead the Trojans to victory over Ohio State in a few months? Wouldn't Brian Cushing have been an ideal candidate to see JERSEY BOYS too?
SW, I'm really quite interested in learning more about your relationships with various people. Could you please rate your relationships with the following individuals?
I am going to ask for a number on a 1-10 scale for strength of relationship (1 = no relationship at all, 10 = very strong relationship) and a letter grade for warmth of relationship (A+ being extremely open/trusting/warm and F being extremely hostile). For instance, John Doe - 7, B+.
