Answer Monday, Part IV
As the season starts, we want to welcome back our flagship sponsor, Roman Meal bread, the official bread of Caesar.
Q: What do expect out of Drew McAllister and Armond Armstead this year. Will Drew most likely being playing on special teams?
A: McAllister intrigued me with his ability to get near the ball. He will play on the kickoff team and probably get on other special teams once guys start getting hurt. Armstead enjoyed a good camp but probably will not play much unless there are injuries. If USC was smart, it would redshirt him so it could stockpile at the tackle spot.
Q: Jeff Goodman reported that the reason Johnson transferred was because he wasn't guaranteed a starting position. This is what he said:
"I just got off the phone with former USC guard Angelo Johnson and he confirmed that he is transferring to Southern Mississippi.
He also told me that USC coach Tim Floyd's statements about Johnson leaving because he wasn't assured the starting point guard job are accurate.
``That's all true what Coach Floyd said," Johnson said. "I thought that being a freshman and playing behind the number three overall pick, I should have the spot handed to me. I felt like I earned it already.""
Is Johnson just lying? What's up with this?
A: This is something I've wanted to post about. First off, Southern Miss is coached by perhaps Tim Floyd's best friend in coaching circles, Larry Eustachy. So Angelo Johnson might be happy to transfer but he is not going to say anything to hurt USC since he is still beholden to Tim Floyd-Larry Eustachy.
It is a running joke among basketball players and other athletes at USC that Hackett's broken jaw was an ``accident.'' Everyone knows what happened, because the players in the gym saw it and told everyone. I was told by two eyewitnesses what happened. So I'm not going with the spin from a point guard who cannot offend Floyd or Eustachy.

I've read this question (about Angelo Johnson leaving) a couple of times, and with the multiple quotes from everyone, I still don't understand exactly what happened. Maybe someone can clear it up for me...
Angelo Johnson transferred, blaming it on not being "handed" a spot - but that wasn't the real reason he transferred? Is this interpretation correct? And if that's not why he transferred, what is he covering up? I'm very confused regarding this issue.
Me too-----I don't get it------and what does the punch by Mayo have to do with it?
