Q: There are no commits for the football recruiting classes for the past weeks, when and who will be the next commits for USC?
A: I'll answer this question during the bye week.
Q: The last recruiting class which was lackluster and disappointing for USC and could be worse without Perry and McNeal and the recent drought of playmakers on the team an issue. With UCLA rising and many USC stars leaving this year and next year like Mays, Sanchez, all the current linebackers and secondary and recruiting not at its usual level, will USC run end as Florida State and Nebraska did?
A: The current recruiting class is not completely devoid of playmakers. Blake Ayles is living up to his hype and D.J. Shoemate shows promise. But this year's recruiting class will be critical. Maybe USC does not need to sign a running back but it needs a blue-chip linebacker and at least one can't miss cornerback. There's too much depth to say there are signs of a decline yet. But the standards are so high, even 10-3 is not good enough.
Q: Can you provide us info on blogs like this for opposing teams sometime during the week before we play that team (e.g. a Virginia columnist's blog next week, etc.)? It would be interesting to read the opposing side's stories, in my opinion.
A: Check out the Richmond Times-Dispatch blog.
Q: Haven't heard much on Stanley and Goodman in Fall camp? Is the FB role changing at all this season? I could foresee even more of an emphasis on blocking to help the inexperienced O-line, and fewer passes with the focus on Joe Mac out of the backfield. Even fewer carries with Allen as the power back. But, Stanley is a stud and Goodman a monster. Any changes to how the FB is used this season
A: Stanley Havili's had a good camp but not enough chances, in my opinion, to touch the ball and make plays. Adam Goodman is a traditional blocking back. Hopefully, the fullback position will not be forgotten in the rush to throw to McKnight and run the ball by committee.

Well, this class might be one of the better one for Pete. He didn't really need playmakers in this class. All four of the defensive linemen are looking like eventual starters and will play this year. McAllister, Byrant, Butler, Shoemate and Ayles look great and like eventual starters. Khalid Holmes might break into the two deep. Smith is backing up Brown. Kalil will come around. It would be nice to get Perry, yet with 4 great dlinemen coming in, he isn't a super priority. McNeal was perhaps the lowest ranked recruit next to McAllister, yet Pete loves him. Although this class was only ranked 7th or 8th, it might go down as one of the best for Pete. In 2009, Pete already has Flournoy, Hall and Carroll coming in on offense, so we have some dynamic players coming in.
If Perry do not make it on his high school. How do you expect him to make it on USC. Try Oregon, they take any rejects USC let go.
"this recruiting class was lackluster and disappointing" might be the most ridiculous statement ever made on this blog, and that is saying a lot! perhaps posted by a Baby Bluin plant.
