Questions about Mitch Mustain and Aaron Corp.

Q: If Mitch remains mired in the #3 spot all season do you expect him to transfer to a 1-AA school to get some playing time?

A: If this goes on for a season and through the spring, then I think there will be some serious soul-searching and possible move.

Q: Aside from Corp's mobility, can you point out any other reasons why the coaches favor him over Mustain and do you see this impacting Matt Barkley's decision to come to USC?

A: He did not make many mistakes. I've said many times in those last two scrimmages, he was 20 for 26. He played with poise, which wasn't new because we saw that aspect even in his first scrimmages last year. Mustain also played fairly well in the scrimmages but I think the coaches were looking for someone who would make less mistakes should Mark Sanchez get hurt.

About Inside USC

Scott Wolf has covered USC for the Daily News since 1996. A USC graduate, he covered his first Trojan game in 1984 for the Daily Trojan. Scott is known as the "scourge of the Internet message boards," according to radio host Petros Papadakis. Despite this moniker, there's no truth to the rumor he takes pleasure in antagonizing the "Internet geeks."
