Early Observation

A player mentioned how much quicker the offensive line looked since spring practices. Initially I thought this was significant until the player said it was because the linemen were not wearing shoulder pads.
``They are a lot quicker without pads,'' the player said.
The danger is that USC practices without pads tend to feature hitting just as intense as regular practices.
``Guys could get hurt, they're all trying to strip the ball away and knock people down,'' the player said.
