Fight Club, Part II
We hear that one of the remarks that precipated Joe McKnight throwing a punch at Vidal Hazelton was when Hazelton asked McKnight and Stafon Johnson, ``How many of you are starting? You both say you're starting. How is that possible?''
Actually, we wondered the same thing.

And, actually, most people would like Joe McKnight to throw a punch at you too.
I'm surprised Hazelton could talk while choking on that cloud of dust in which Ronald Johnson and Damien Williams had left him standing.
Wow. Well, at least JoeMc didn't ask him if he worked out, giving Vidal the chance to come back with "on your mom". That would have been below everyone involved.
Having played ball with blacks I know there is an unwritten code that there are "no mommas" negative comments allowed when arguing. But, really, if this is what Vidal said then it hardly warranted getting physical. I suspect there is something deeper involved between these men, and this inane insult was the last straw.
Why would this post be titled "Fight ClubII" when everyone knows the first rule of Fight Club.
Fights happen in football. It's no big deal. Write about a team that doesn't fight; that's where the real problem would be.
I hear they never fight at UCLA.
I heard one of them said, "Your'e momma looks like Scott Wolf!". Then fists we're flying.
Good for them.
Damnit, Scott! The 1st rule of Fight Club is to never talk about Fight Club! Actually, I love Vidal and his spirit. Many of the greatest WRs in the game are cocky. This was just east coast trash talkin', no harm at all. Vidal probably grew up exposed to this kind of behavior every day. And, he brings the game to back it up. Don't think that it doesn't also fire up the RBs. No harm, no foul, no mama jokes. Don't want to let it get out of hand, but from this, I take away that Joe Mc is an intense competitor and Vidal is a cocky WR who burns to be the best. I love it! These kids just need an opponent to whom to transfer this aggression!
If John Lawyer belives the comment warranted a physical attack, then I hope lawyer is name not profession.
PaulMor, read it again carefully, I think you missed something.
One thing I have learned blog writing, or any writing for that matter, is how the writer's true intent and meaning can be quite tenuous at times, not only from careless writing, but from the reader's subjectivity and even bias.
