Gable Update

C.J. Gable underwent an x-ray that showed no damage but will undergo an MRI tomorrow because doctors are unsure how serious his hip injury is. He also has a high-ankle sprain, which is usually the most-serious version.
``I think the hip is the worst part,'' team doctor James Tibone said. ``I can't tell right now (how long he will be out). We won't know for a few days.''
Gable walked very slowly on crutches tonight.

How did it happen, Scotty?

Here's another guy that doesn't need to be rushed back. Even though Joe McKnight is hurting, there is plenty of depth and talent in this stable of ponies, not to rush C.J. back and risk further damage. Come on, this is UVA that we are talking about. Go out and take care of business against them without Sanchez, Gable and the others of the seriously walking wounded. Get them all healthy for the rest of the season. Fight On!

About Inside USC

Scott Wolf has covered USC for the Daily News since 1996. A USC graduate, he covered his first Trojan game in 1984 for the Daily Trojan. Scott is known as the "scourge of the Internet message boards," according to radio host Petros Papadakis. Despite this moniker, there's no truth to the rumor he takes pleasure in antagonizing the "Internet geeks."
