Keeping Cool

Mark Sanchez threw another interception in practice today and admitted he became frustrated during some drills where receivers were not open.
``I was most frustrated near the goal line. Nothing was open,'' Sanchez said. ``I hated throwing the ball away, it's like pulling teeth.''
Said Pete Carroll: ``He got mad because the play got covered. He can't do anything about that. That's just his competitiveness.''

He needs to keep his machismo in check. It happens to a lot of Latin boxers too. When you are way ahead on points by winning rounds, why force the knockout?

I'm worried that no receivers are getting open. If he was frustrated on one play fine, but it seems like it's happening a lot. We saw that last year. We blamed the QB, WR's RB's...

Is it the players or the play calling? I can't believe that all those top rated WRs, TE's and RBs coming out the backfield to catch passes are not good. I also don't want to believe we'll be looking at bubble screens and sideline jump balls that no one can get for the year.

Hope it is just our defense being really good.

These sequences in practice both teams know what's coming, either because it was scripted or because they have played against each other for the lasth month plus and every flinch is completely readible by the defense. On the goal line it gets worse because you have already limited where you can stretch. Plus the familiarity means the picks don't get executed and so on. Mark's competitiveness is a possitive, but there is a nexxus you cannot cross for fear of diminishing return. Mark will eventually be able to improvise and sustain plays that bog down. That is one of his real strengths. He is just young and coming off the injury he wants to be perfect on every read and every ball. That's a good thing.

Please define machismo. Were you reared around a Spanish culture? Are you bilingual? I don't want to hear that rhetoric that I grew-up in SC.
Thank you

el cap...

with all honesty, i never post on this blog. but throughout the months you have continually turned every sanchez issue into a racial issue. you really need to calm down. the only reason why you support sanchez is because he's a mexican, not because he's a good football player.

you're incredibly annoying.

Where in the hell is the racial issue? Secondly you stupid moron [READ] what the hell I wrote. Sánchez is Chicano and also a very good FB player, idiot. Is asking to define machismo a racially insensitive question you stupid jerk? Were you reared around a Spanish culture also a racially insensitive question? The same point applies to whether Trojan&Tonic is bilingual or NOT?
Once more you damn jackass:
