Q: Is it possible for you to find out what the coach and/or members of the UCLA Dance Team think about the recent scandalous pictures of the USC Song Girls that have now become a part of American popular culture?
A: Perhaps one of our sources can find out something on that. I'm sure it's one more reason UCLA thinks it's taken over the Pac-10 (along with Oregon).
Q: You said recently how you expected the athletic department to inform athletes to seriously consider what they put on their Facebook profiles, in light of the recent embarrassing pictures of USC athletes and the Song Girls appearing on the internet. So have steps been taken to ensure that athletes (and Song Girls) think twice about putting incriminating pictures on their Facebook profiles, or whether they should even have such pages? Why was nothing done by the athletic department over a year ago when Clay Matthews gained national attention for his "White Nation" group on Facebook? The signs were clearly there before all the recent Facebook scandals, so why weren't athletes warned about having public profiles over a year ago, which would have prevented all the recent scandals from coming to light, causing major embarrassment to the university and its public image in the process?
A: Warnings are/were issued but remember there are hundreds of athletes and it's hard to always get everyone to listen, especially when it is so popular to post crazy pictures on Facebook. It's no longer considered cool to keep things to yourself. Everyone wants to be a star and show their friends how wild they can appear (at least in photos).

UCLA Dance Team? Do they have one? Are those the girls with flags that accompany that high school band of theirs?
Yes, UCLA has a Dance Team. A very good looking squad that makes our Song Girls look like they should be wearing paper bags over their heads and girdles over their thighs.
Their football team is a joke...but their Dance Team makes ours look bad.
