Sure, but they're good looking yards.

Add Reggie to the very long list of Pete Carroll-era NFL busts.

Sure, we'll add him to the list that includes Lofa, Carson, and Troy.

I put this post as further proof that Scott is a "Grade A" D-Bag.

Maybe I'm just a homer, but I'm waiting for Reggie to break loose and get ridiculous on the NFL. He's shown flashes of brilliance (against the 49ers, Giants, and NFC Champion Bears during his rookie season) but I think sooner or later he'll put it all together and everything will click for him. I'd just like to see Reggie stop going out of bounds every other play and start running some fools over. There's no reason Reggie Bush couldn't get lower than the defender and knock him on his keester. He's not a small person, he just runs like he is. If RB ever sets his mind to getting tough yards, he could be LT-light.

Bush got a lot of his "cheap" yards by out-racing the defense to the corners. He cannot do that in the NFL. Besides, a 4 yard average, which he is close to, is considered adequate at that level.

And since we are on the subject of Bush, I am more interested in how he "runs" through his upcoming deposition. You know he will have to lie in order to safeguard his Heisman and endorsement deals, but I am afraid there is evidence that will uproot his testimony.

You know he and his family have some dirt, at least. My feelings about Bush not waiting one-year until he would receive his riches has tarnished my feelings about the man-- how he obviously did not care how SC could be implicated and brought down.

I only hope he settles with them before the depositions because this could become very ugly as the NCAA lies in wait to pounce on our Trojans.

Once again, I must call on my "homer-ism", but I still root wildly for Bush. I also think that his parents were the main culprits in this whole deal and the villains (along with the man with two first names Michael Michaels and the scurrilous Lloyd Lake). His parents were the ones sitting in the house they didn't own, not Reggie. Having that house didn't benefit Reggie one iota, and yet he, and the USC family will be the ones to face the consequences.

At this point, I think Reggie ought to just swallow his immense pride and pay this a-hole Lake off. I'm sure a man (Lake) with such questionable moral fiber would be happy to take half a million to renounce his claims of impropriety.

The USC coaches and administrators need to keep an "eagle eye" out for these agents in the present and future as well, to ensure that something like this never takes place again.

Fight on!

Let me start off by saying I'm a big Bush fan and seriously pull for him to do well, I think he's in a relatively good situation in New Orleans and if Deuce is healthy I think he can succeed.

The only thing that I can see stopping him on the field is injury and that's much more likely to happen if he puts his head down and takes the hit for an extra 1/2 yard. I know it looks wimpy to run out of bounds but looking bad is worth it to Reggie and the team unless they really need that 1/2 yard.

He's not small compared to some of us, but on the playing field he is. Look up the top RB's in the league and they all have 10-25 pounds on him. Even Maurice Jones-Drew has 10 lbs. on Reggie.

As far as the off the field stuff. I agree that he really does need to suck it up and pay-off Lake, guilty or not. If not for the school then at least for his image and wallet.

Ah..SureShot...youre such a noob.

Troy, Lofa and Carson were not recruited by Pete.

Good luck finding a Pete Carroll recruit who has made an impact in the NFL (ex Pro-Bowl or All-NFL).

Well '89, your post did not allude to Pete recruiting the player... in fact, I assumed your criticism was based on a perceived inability to develop the player. If your point is that Pete can't recruit, I think you may be in the wrong city. Crazy Town is "thatta way".

And for someone who thinks of himself so highly (calling me a noob) I'd think that you would know that Lofa transferred here from Maine and was indeed a Pete recruit (unless you are now revising your previous revision of your qualifications and saying the player must be a player Pete recruited straight out of high school)

I honestly don't understand what you are trying to get at here. Do you think Pete sucks as a recruiter, sucks as a developer of talent, or just plain sucks as a coach? Because I think none of those things are true.

Does a player's success in the NFL really matter?

Leinart may be a bust too, but he went 38-2 at USC and that is all I care about.

Who cares about their NFL successes.

Good point, Fighton. Who really cares about their NFL success? I do as a big fan of the former SC players, but I'm 1000x more interested in what they do for SC.

I also care more about what they do at SC, but the better they do in the NFL, the better it is for future recruiting classes.

If you were a running back coming out of high school in the early 2000's, would you rather go to a school like Penn State where they marched one bust after another into the NFL (Curtis Enis, KiJanna Carter, etc) or go to a place like Miami where they had a parade of NFL stars (Clinton Portis, Frank Gore, Willis McGahee, etc.) You don't want to go to a place where greatness is expected in college and cr@piness is expected in the NFL (system guys).

I think it's great that SC has such a fantastic track record when it comes to putting linebackers into the NFL. Guys like Junior Seau, Willie McGinnest, and Lofa Tatupu all helped pave the way for Keith Rivers, Brian Cushing, and Rey Maualuga. In fact, it probably helped SC recruit some of those guys.

So yeah, I don't care nearly as much about some of the guys once they get to the pros, but I still root for them to succeed, and it does affect what SC does in the long run.

Marcus Allen averaged 4.1 yards per carry in his NFL career, and I believe he is in the Hall of Fame. Marcus, in fact, averaged 3.6 yards a carry for the Raiders in 1986. Does that mean Reggie Bush is better than Marcus? Hardly. But what it does mean is that Wolfie again just shoots darts at a wall, hoping one will stick in the right place and people will get all riled up about nothing.

Keep up the good work, Wolfie. How about another of your daily exposes on 18-year-olds' grades? Or maybe post some more fabulous photos of other schools' babes? Maybe there's somebody lurking over there in the parking structure, taking video of the football practices? I vote for Dohn to switch places with Wolfie so he can move over to Westweird and follow the soon-to-implode soap opera over there.
