Answer Monday, Part II

This segment is brought to you by Roman Meal bread. For our oldtimers, which was better, Roman Meal or Helms Olympic bread?

Q: Do redshirting players travel to away games? And how about at this time of the year when a player hasn't been designated a redshirt yet?

A: No player technically redshirts until after the season. So freshmen can travel to any game even if there is no intention of playing them. You never know if injuries will force you to play someone. But if they don't play, they can redshirt.

Q: How did Mustain end up on the field? Where they unhappy with Corp? I thought he did a great job handing the ball to the RB. He threw that cute little 2 yard pass. Wasn't it in their best interest to give the #2 QB as much reps as possible? Or is this a sign that Corp is really on equal footing as Mustain?

A: They wanted to give both quarterbacks a chance against Virginia and they also realize how fragile the morale is for whoever is No. 3, so they put Mustain in at the end.

Q: Are there any requirements which state that USC Song Girls have to have certain values or morals in order to be a part of the squad and represent the university? Is that even a consideration when trying out? Is it irrelevant?

A: I'm not aware of any morals clauses but usually our faithful readers provide additional information in these matters.

These are the requirements to be a Song Girl in the 2000s:

1) Must provide your own beer bong. Extra points for having a bong in the shape of male genitalia.

2) Must not be as pretty as the coach's daughter.

3) Must cheer for the other team and be photographed doing so.

4) Must prefer the company of women and take photographic evidence.

5) Must be related to the coach or a friend of the coach's daughter.

6) Must prove that you do not have the talent to make an NBA team's cheer squad.

7) Must not be even remotely as pretty as the Oregon cheerleaders or the UCLA Dance Team.

8) Must meet some quota system.

9) Must prove that morals are out the window and take pictures in case anyone doubts that.

10) Must be willing to be rented out for $150.

They have to be girls right? Like SW could not step in could he, even if he meets all the afore mentioned criteria?

I think he does. Especially #3 & #7

I don't know about the bread, but the best thing was the little donut trucks that came around like the ice cream man! Yes, I guess that tells you how long I've been around (had a milkman too).

About Inside USC

Scott Wolf has covered USC for the Daily News since 1996. A USC graduate, he covered his first Trojan game in 1984 for the Daily Trojan. Scott is known as the "scourge of the Internet message boards," according to radio host Petros Papadakis. Despite this moniker, there's no truth to the rumor he takes pleasure in antagonizing the "Internet geeks."
