Halftime Thoughts

USC leads comfortably 21-3 although the stats are much closer. Perhaps because Rey Maualuga returned an interception 48 yards for the touchdown.
Things are going pretty close to form. Todd Boeckman is very average.Terrelle Pryor is giving the Trojans problems (a year from now will be really interesting) and Mark Sanchez threw his customary interception to end the half.
Where is Stafon Johnson? One carry so far. So much for tailback by committee.

SW, was Joe McKnight the hot back? Uh, YES! So why not keep giving him the rock. SW, get over yourself and go enjoy the 2nd half, because a statement is being made tonight. Yes, improvement need to take place (especially from the "O" line and the receivers running better patterns). What's with the soft cushion that the DB's are giving. All in all though, that was still an 18 point lead at the break. Fight On!

Bad play calling at the end of the half though. What was up with that run on first and goal with 20-odd seconds on the clock? Sarkisian cost the Trojans at least 3 points if not 7. They should have clocked the ball in the first place to keep two TO's in their pocket for an expanded playbook. Great game (other than that) by the players, coaches, and waterboys. You could tell that our guys were always more hydrated than the Buckeyes.

Fight on!

SW you you're NOT happy unless you jab at Mark one way or the other. SW face it Mark passed the test and he's for real! BTW on a post game interview Mark like a man criticized himself stating that:
1. There is plenty of room for improvement.
2. He'd wish he could have taken some throws back!
SW please start working on the MM and Me eulogy!
Thank you

So, having four backs means you MUST use all of them in a given game? Scott...sometimes I wonder if you actually know anything about football or if you live to denigrate SC.

The team isn't perfect. The coaching isn't perfect. The players aren't perfect. But they're pretty darn good, definitely near the best in the nation. Maybe not the best in the nation (they may get upset, and they could lose the NC or whatever bowl game they get to), but good Lord, man...I'm guessing you'd rank UCLA higher if you could. Even after the blowout.

Gee Scott, I wish you were the coach and not Pete. You have it all figured out.
