About Inside USC
Scott Wolf has covered USC for the Daily News since 1996. A USC
graduate, he covered his first Trojan game in 1984 for
the Daily Trojan. Scott is known as the "scourge of the Internet
message boards," according to radio host Petros Papadakis. Despite this
moniker, there's no truth to the rumor he takes pleasure in
antagonizing the "Internet geeks."

I completely agree with outcoached, but not sure about outclassed. Unless you are referring to the personal fouls, but those can partly be explained as a product of an aggressive defensive. Was there something postgame to which you are referring? Carroll's comments seemed classy to me, and very complimentary to Mike Riley and Oregon State.
Please explain.
Too conservative.
I remember when USC was a threat to score from anywhere on the field against anyone. Not so these days.
Seems that there is too high a premium being placed on lack of mistakes to the point of punishing any attempt to make a play at USC now. While limiting mistakes is important, if it comes at the cost of the ability to make plays, the team will always find itself on its heals and in big trouble against an agressive, and even less talented opponent like you saw tonight.
Caroll and Sarkisian may be the best of friends, but they aren't adding up to a good combination for USC's offense. It's not like the weapons aren't available anymore.
Time for a new Defensive Coordinator. That was ugly. The weaknesses people talked about going into the season materialized in the 3rd game.
- No Ellis at Nose Tackle. Couldn't stop the run right down the middle.
- Offensive Line. Enough said.
Sad thing is by the end of the season USC will probably be the best team but it won't matter.

Thcotty Thcotty Thcotty,
This must be like the 1st time a ga-ga-ga-girl talked to you...standing there with that big sh*t eating grin on your face, hoping that the saliva from your lisp doesn't hit her in the eye.
Now you and all of your trekkie friends will have something to giggle about this weekend while eating your chocolate bars hoping that you don't wake mom up!
Seriously, is the hiring department at the Daily News on a first come first serve basis?
What a joke! The end.
Quote from PC- "The PAC-10 is ridiculously hard..." NO ITS NOT! Its hard for you to keep your team focused and PREPAREd with a game plan/scheme that isn't the same cookie-cutter crap that the staff throws out there EVERY GAME! The PAC-10 is not that hard, these teams are terrible, SC has 5X the talent and athleticism of these opponents and we still can't get our act together and get a W on the road against a weak opponent who comes out and plays smart and physical against us. This is why the SEC talks crap on us every year and almost has a point...we lose to WEAK in conference opponents while the SEC play each other week/in/out knowing they are the elite of CFB, hence they deserve the right to play in the NC. Looks like PC needs to win out just to make a case for the Rose Bowl..oh wait, like he always says each (dissapointing) year-"the rose bowl is always our goal.." ya right..you want to lose a game or two so you can stay home during the holidays and kill a slow big-10 team and then come out saying maybe you should have played in the NC game..no, maybe YOU SHOULD HAVE BEATEN OSU back on SEPT 25 first!!!
Scott, does Joe-Mac fumble often in practices OR does he save his fumbles for GAMEdays???
Norm Chow must be laughing his ass off right now.
Sure the defense was not very good but it was the offense that let SC down. Sarkisian with the great calls giving it to McKnight. Amazing.
How can SC only score 21 against a team that Penn State scored 45 on?
That was awful. USC's performance was absolutely abysmal. USC needs to stop believing its own press. We were outcoached in every category. Hats off to the coaching staff at Oregon State.
Every season I abhor going to Oregon. It seems we are cursed.
I predict we will fall out of the top 25. What a nightmare.
I have said this before.....we often look like a team that leaves it best effort on the Competition Tuesday practice field. The attitude that the best competition we face is in Practice is a big reason for these type of performances on game day. Need to change it to Competition Saturday and start focusing on competing with the teams on the schedule, or this will easily be a 2 or 3 loss year. Just thankful that Sanchez is alot more mobile than Booty, or this would have been a shutout.
