Offensive lineman Jeff Byers was the first player singled out by Pete Carroll during highlights from the Ohio State game because he pancaked two Buckeyes players on one play. But Byers did not want the attention.
``I'd rather he didn't show it,'' Byers said. ``I don't play for that.''

I work with the Dad of one of his old high school buddies. He has raved about Jeff's character for years. It is refreshing to see that brains and heart can make up for 20 or 30 pounds on the O-Line at this level in this era. I know he will have a great year and I hope he'll find a way to impress the NFL scouts and earn himself a nice paycheck, maybe as a center in the mold of Jeff Saturday.

I'll also vouch for Jeff. He is currently getting his MBA in the PM program, as am I. I have known many football players through my years at SC and he is easily the most down to earth, unassuming guy. The only one thats close is maybe Booty.
