About Inside USC
Scott Wolf has covered USC for the Daily News since 1996. A USC
graduate, he covered his first Trojan game in 1984 for
the Daily Trojan. Scott is known as the "scourge of the Internet
message boards," according to radio host Petros Papadakis. Despite this
moniker, there's no truth to the rumor he takes pleasure in
antagonizing the "Internet geeks."

I somehow get the feeling that the women in charge of the Song Girls will not allow anyone past the doors of the gym. The last thing they want is an audience who will be critical of their antics. But who knows, this could be the year we revert back to the past, everything will be open, and the Song Girls will be pretty and thin again.
Reagan/Bush in '84!
Will there be a dermatologist on site to check for tattoos?
Is it a coincidence that tryouts are scheduled during class time for students and business hours for alumni, making it difficult for anyone to show up? Hmmm........
I'd say alumni and men old enough to be graduates shouldn't be going to scrutinize young girls anyway.
What will take place today won't really be auditions as much as a coronation for the pre-approved girls who have already been selected because they know someone within the Song Girl organization.
It won't be a matter of beauty and class as much as having the right connections and having a propensity for public tittilation.

Welcome to how things work in the real world. Get used to it.
Scott, how many fewer than 77 girls will be there today? What happens if there are less than 14 that show up? Does Lori Nelson have a slush fund to pay random girls at the 9-0 to show up to make the #s look better? Maybe the SGs should run classified ads on Craig's List to increase the turnout. Due to cronyism, nepotism, and corruption, the most talented girls on campus have learned to stay away or head to Dance Force tryouts. Showing up at SG tryouts is like trying to get into the mafia....it's not based on talent, but who you know, who you are related to, and how well you can grease palms (figuratively speaking).
In the real world, cheerleaders are, at the very least, supposed to be cute and thin.
As for the Song Girls of this decade...well, I think all you have to do is just look at the sidelines and you know why it's become terribly embarrasing to have the current Song Girls represent the university (or anyone who has internet and can check Busted Coverage).
