Scott Wolf has covered USC for the Daily News since 1996. A USC
graduate, he covered his first Trojan game in 1984 for
the Daily Trojan. Scott is known as the "scourge of the Internet
message boards," according to radio host Petros Papadakis. Despite this
moniker, there's no truth to the rumor he takes pleasure in
antagonizing the "Internet geeks."

While it does not appear to be a huge problem, this season the running game has failed to convert in short yardage situations like 3rd and 1, 3rd and 2. When the team has converted on fourth and 1 or 2, it has often been off the pass. How do you work on getting these 3rd and 1s? Is it more of an offensive line issue or is it more of a running back issue? Thanks.
Dear Coach:
Are you concerned about the student-athlete's comments on the eye-black stickers, such as "pay day" and "I need $$," especially in light of the ongoing NCAA investigations relating to Reggie Bush and O.J. Mayo? (I am not talking about the comments that say "Dad" or an area code, but rather the references to money or getting paid).

Here's a question for you Scott:
When FSN replays old Pac-10 games, why does it always seem to be a lame '90's USC team getting whacked? Last night I actually sat there and suffered through WSU beating #23 USC at the Coliseum in 1997. Cryin' Ryan leaf at QB for the Cougs and John Fox...JOHN FOX!!!!!...at QB for the Trojans. At least RJ Soward returned a kick off for a TD. I know, I can just turn off the TV, but it's like a car wreck...I can't look away!

What's it gonna take for you to hire a special teams coach? Many close losses are avoided around the country with strong special teams, yet you refuse to hire a coach. For the love of Pete (pun intended) can we get a dedicated special teams coach on the staff next year???

Coach, in the SC-TEXAS game, on the 4th and a short two yards to go play near the end of the game, Lane was quoted as saying he would never criticize a player.
LenDale was quoted as saying that the hole was to the outside, and he cut it back too soon. Was the play Lane called a 'run to daylight play', or just 'run to a certain spot' play, where the hole will [should] be?
