BCS Standings
The first rankings came out this afternoon and USC is fifth. And now for some ``expert'' commentary from Fox analyst Barry Switzer.
"I wouldn't be surprised if it's not Florida vs. Texas (in the BCS Championship game).'' he said.
1. Texas
2. Alabama
3. Penn State
4. Oklahoma
5. USC
6. Oklahoma State
7. Georgia
8. Texas Tech
9. Ohio State
10. Florida
11. Utah
12. Boise State
13. LSU
14. TCU
15. Missouri
16. South Florida
17. Pittsburgh
18. Georgia Tech
19. Tulsa
20. Ball State

Boy, Florida is low. Do the computers punish them more for losing at home?
Also, I love that LSU is behing Utah AND Boise St. Up yours, cajuns.
I like that Florida is lower than it's AP rank.
I just hate the thoughtm of THE Ohio State sitting at #10. You just get that feeling that the back door is open, and here they'll come again. Fight On!
As a Trojan fan, hard to complain about this.
OU is the only one loss team team ranked higher, and they did lose to #1 Texas. USC needs help and Ohio State over Penn State would be a good start!
By the way, USC should not overlook U of A and their new 5"8" running back. That little dude tore up Cal last night. Hope it's not The Quiz Part 2.
Did he really say, "I wouldn't be surprised if it's not Florida vs. Texas" or did you just get it wrong again. Because if that's the case, "I wouldn't be surprised if it wasn't Temple versus Central Michigan. I also wouldn't be surprised if it wasn't Miss State versus Louisiana Tech." So many double negatives in there, I wouldn't be surprised if I wasn't making nonsense.
Anyway, I like that Scott's #3 team is #10 in the BCS. I think 2008 is Scott's best chance yet to garner his first "worst voter of the year" award from Pollspeak. All of those "Worst of the Week" awards must have killed him when he was unable to bring home the yearly trophy. This year is your year!
The computers are killing USC, who is in 12th, 4th, 10th, 7th, 10th, and 9th places on the six computers. As a result, USC is rated 10th in the computer portion of the BCS:
1. Texas
2. Alabama
3. Oklahoma St.
4. Oklahoma
5. Ohio St (!)
6. Georgia
7. Penn St.
8. Utah
9. Boise St.
10. USC
USC is ranked fourth in the poll portion of the BCS, behind Texas, Alabama, and Penn St.
Here's what's funny about this thing. That LSU and Florida are even ranked in the top 20 is pretty much a joke. Alabama is so over rated it's hysterical. The Tide has only outscored their opponents by 226-101, in 7 games. Their vaunted schedule includes a horrible Clemson team (coach already fired), Tulane, Western Kentucky (no WKU's on SC's schedule) and conference wins over Arkansas, Ol' Miss, and Kentucky (all bad teams). They've played ONE legitimate team. Send the Tide to Corvallis on a Thursday night and they lose by double digits.
Texas has played one game: Oklahoma. Stoops can't win a big game no matter what so that game should be discounted. This week vs. Mizzou you ask, even Tiger fans know their rank it blown out of proportion by at least 10 spots, if not more. I currently reside in St. Louis, trust me, even Mizzou fans know how bad they are.
There is only one team in the Top 10 that would be an intriguing match up, and that's Texas Tech. Problem is, they can't run the ball, so that lowers their ability to win a game where speed is the only factor. Honestly, there isn't a team in the Top 20 that scares me.
