Hmmm
Joe McKnight, who did not practice this week and is sidelined with turf toe, was a late addition to the travel roster and made the trip to Washington State. Zack Heberer, who also has turf toe, did not.
Maybe, just maybe, this illustrates what we've talked about since last season about the special treatment reserved for the star tailback.

Or maybe it means that McKnight is healthy enough to play and that Herberer is not.
But hey, who needs to actually find out the facts when you can just lazily print speculation and call it reporting. What a joke.
Last time I checked, the USC J-school didn't offer "Speculation and Innuendo" as part of its curriculum. You must've learned that on your own and from your "reporter" colleagues at that "newspaper" you work for.

Or maybe, just maybe, Carroll does not want to pull a Tressel and let the opposing team know too much ahead of time about exact personnel
Wolf: "Hmmm, nothing controversial this week and USC is favored to beat Washington State by 6 touchdowns, boss. Whaddya think?"
Boss: "I don't know pal. I went to UCLA where they barely even PLAY football anymore. Maybe you can make something up again?"
Wolf: "Hey, McKnight is on the traveling squad! Maybe I can blow this all out of proportion and inject some innuendo and rumor and ..."
Boss: "Wolf, you still got it. Thing I don't understand is, why do you keep trying to screw your alma mater in print? Were you dropped on your head as a baby?"
Wolf: "Don't think so. At least I can't remember. Hey Boss, like this photo of me with Tinkerbell at Disneyland? Every time I look at it, I giggle like a 12-year-old girl. Isn't it just precious?"
Boss: "Wolfie, you're precious!"
SW's favorite movie is Conspiracy Theory, because he identifies with Jerry Fletcher (Mel Gibson) who sees "conspiracies" everywhere.
But seriously, I don't understand why anyone in the program talks to you Scott. You rarely have a pleasant thing to say, nothing is ever good enough, and you routinely throw people under the bus. On top of all that, you bombard us with idiotic Song Girl posts, and you constantly misquote or take quotes out of context ( a journalism 101 no-no). In sum, you suck.
Well, I happen to agree with Scott Wolf on this one. Why is it so hard to believe that McKnight just may have received special treatment?
Isn't the rule on the team, if a kid does not practice all week long, he does not play?
How is this fair to other kids who might want to travel and are usually starters? Even when going to Washington State, is there anyone who thinks it is more fun to stay home than to travel?
Obviously the coach is the boss and he can do as he pleases. But that does not mean there won't be some bruised egos and some won't claim unreasonable favoritism.
Many like to point to some of Wolf's statements that have later been untrue. The famous one is CJ Spiller. Well, guess what. Wolf was not the only one who heard that strong rumor, and there are others who know that to be the case. MJDavidson
I don't know about you, MJD, but I miss those 12-year-old girlie giggles by Scott Wolf on his videos. I'm sure Wolfie's on the prowl at the USC team hotel tonight, looking to see what player might smuggle some extra candy bars into his room tonight. Lock your doors tight, boys!
I don't know why USC would play him against WSU. I sure would hate to lose McKnight for several games if he worsens his injury by playing in a potential blow out. If he is not going to play, perhaps he should stay home and rest his toe.
I don't buy Scott's premise that traveling to Pullman Washington is considered "special treatment." He is just stirring the pot again.
Good luck getting a response from Coach. I trust his judgement.

Better taking the fragile JM with the team then leave him home. The guy obviously needs baby sat. Good move by Pete really.
When I asked Wolf last week if the growing criticism of his work was justified, his "answer" was that he was appointing me the Criticism Monitor.
Well, on this bit of amazing breaking news, the vote is 9 to 1 against Wolf. How unusual.
But the guy does not care, folks, so give it a rest. He won't change.
You got it wrong Lawyer John. People will continue to protest against his shoddy journalism as he marches toward irrelevance.
The more he continues to write such drivel, the more isolated he becomes from the program. To say he doesn't care misses the point. One has to have established a reputation of excellence to really to be able to put their nose so high in the air.
One only has to look at his reporting which is fraught with errors, poor grammar, and shallow content to know he's at best a mediocre journalist.
Special treatment for McFumble??? Naw, can't be that. Why would you take a RB with turf toe when you already have 23 RB's on the team who are healthy?? Maybe Carroll will have McFumble handle the punts again.
Rah Rah's Bite,
By 23 RB's, did you actually mean 3? I only saw three tailbacks running today.
I'm sure McKnight will return punts again if he can learn to hang onto the ball. If he can't, he won't get that spot back.
I know Pete Carroll is a lot more interested in winning than he is in keeping a player happy.
