`In A Zone'

Freshman linebacker Chris Galippo said he was unaware he committed a late hit against Arizona last weekend.
``I was in a zone,'' Galippo said. ``I didn't realize what I did until after I heard the ref.''

Maybe he meant "zoning out" which is usually pejotative.
Or maybe he meant "in Arizona" which was certainly true.
