Here's the top five largest Pac-10 Conference spreads (data since 1985 season) according to Bodog.

1) Washington - 43½ at Oregon State
1991 Won the game and covered 58-6

2) USC -39½ vs. Arizona
2005 Won the game 42-21, failed to cover

3) USC - 39 vs. Stanford
2007 Lost the game 24-23 and failed to cover

4) USC -37 vs. Arizona
2004 Won the game and covered 49-9

5) USC -37 vs. Washington
2004 Won the game and covered 38-0

SC is 4-1 against the spread this year though.

The thing you have to wonder about is whether Washington State is worse than Virginia (who USC pounded by 45).
