Over At Running Back
C.J. Gable and Stafon Johnson will split time against Washington State with Broderick Green in reserve. Assistant coach Todd McNair said Green might get more carries this week but would not play in the first quarter and like see action in the latter half of the game.

I know for a fact that many long term supporters of the program ($) wanted a Gable and Stafon tandem all along. These insiders think McKnight is a good 3rd down threat, but not an every down guy or reliable enough to return punts. In other words, many don't see him approximating Reggie Bush in the Risk/Reward calculus.
CJ and Stafon should have huge days. But, it's WSU, so does it really count? I used to agree with T&T's view above, until I saw Joe Mc single-handedly carry the offense against ASU creating incredible runs out of nothing.
Don't forgot Stanford, and Oregon State. USC should be catious of Washington State. Also, how about focusing on the game and not carries.
The injuries prove that USC is correct in having all the running backs since injuries happen.
The loss of most of the "stable" is a blessing in disguise.
Not only have I wanted to see Gable and S. Johnson get more touches but I really want to see Broderick Green get some "thunder" short-yardage plays.
I'm really excited to see what Stafon & CJ do with more carries. These two guys are natural ball carriers with the ability to run between the tackles & outside as well.Joe Mc is nice, but anybody should be able to see through the coaches favoritism for McNight.
Let's see what happens at Arizona. This game doesn't matter, Lane Kiffin could call plays that actually work vs hapless Washington St.
I believe trojanjay's "coachs' favoritism" means "coachs' appreciation of highest yards per rush in the Pac-10".
