For one day every three to five years, my faith in the Song Girls will be redeemed and I will experience the glory that this once-great American institution. I am looking forward to seeing some of the 1990s era Song Girls who left such an amazing legacy and thank them for representing my alma mater with beauty and class.

And a very big NO THANK YOU to the Song Girls of the 2000s.

I am looking forward to seeing the great Maggie Miguel in her uniform again.

Hell yeah, Maggie was great!!! Totally hot. She was even the choreographer for the Song Girls for a while after her stint on the squad. We have not had Song Girls like her in years.

When you look at the Song Girls of the 2000s, it makes Tricia and the rest of the Glory Days Song Girls seem like mythical figures who existed in a more perfect world a long, long, long time ago. The Song Girls of this decade represent a regression and devolution of beauty and class.

This is even more embarrassing in its gushing nature than the first piece. Once again, he addresses issues raised by the readers of this blog. Malcolmson is truly a tool. I am embarrassed for him.

This article has no credibility at all. I'd respect Ben (or more like the athletic dept.) if they had actually written about the shortcomings and failures of the squad the past few years and how they are trying to rectify that this year and pick girls who actually have beauty and class.

There is "a former Song Girl coach" on the selection committee this year and that article said one of the members of the selection committee made a reference to "The Look." Could that mean the great Dolly Rouse is back to save the Song Girls?

That article by Ben Malcomson is so gratuitous and effusive with praise that it is laughable. Surely, a more talented shill could come up with a more subtle propaganda piece.

Now, I love the Song Girls, don't get me wrong, but articles like this seem to prove that USC is more about bullshit marketing than telling the truth about things, e.g. "the Doctors of USC". Marketing like this makes us look small, like some little kid tooting his own horn.

The Administration's ignoring of the legitimate criticism over the recent scandals plaguing our beloved Song Girls is pathetic and strikes me of the most arrogant form of elitism. This fluff piece by Malcomson just proves this point. How dumb do they think we are? To believe this bullshit?

How come there's no photos accompanying Malcomson's report? Why? Because if he included photos, perhaps more objective minds would see through all that bullshit hyperbole.

I started out laughing at the Malcolmson article, but I now feel nauseous. It was more oozy and gratuitous than a Keith Olbermann piece on Obama. 77 girls show up, 33 girls make the finals. There are two athletic dept bozos on the SGSC, but the SGs are in the Student Affairs department, not AD. Now, if TrojanDC's hunch is right, and the great Dolly Rouse attended, then by God, we might have change for the better. But, until we overhaul the program and entice more than 77 girls to tryout, then the SGs will be weak. Hail the Goddess Pillsbury!!!!!

There's no rerason why we can be #1 in foootball and #115 in song girls.

I fully expect to see pictures of Scott with Tricia by Sunday morning.

Hopefully I won't be eating when I see these pictures, or I will end up having to buy a new computer afterwards.
