Position Pondering
Pete Carroll said earlier this week that Clay Matthews played defensive end better than Brian Cushing two years. Which raises the next question? Would Cushing have been the best middle linebacker if he played the spot his entire career?

Seemingly, but having the experience at the hybrid position certainly gives Cushing a boost to his NFL stock.
Wow...this post is a mess.
First, "...better than Brian Cushing two years," makes no sense.
Second, "Which raises the next question?" Why the question mark?? Are you asking me which raises the next question?
I think Scott is continuing a line of questioning from previous posts, admittedly hard to follow. But, in a rare occurrence, I must say that this line of questioning fascinates me. If Cush is so natural at MLB, and Rey is a little undisciplined there, albeit an athletic freak, what would life be like if Cush were in the middle? And, Rey was playing elephant on the line? And, Clay was back at weakside LB? Rey has the size to play on the line at end. I would love to hear Pete address this, although I doubt he would give a sincere answer. Good questions, Scottie.
It may be more about Clay just playing very well.
