Power Ranking

The Sagarin Rankings, one of the computer services used by the BCS, generates multiple rankings. In one, which is used by the BCS and does not consider margin of victory, USC is ranked No. 16.
In Sagarin's "Predictor" ranking, which does include margin of victory, USC is No. 1 by a considerable margin. In fact, USC is so highly rated in the "Predictor" that theoretically it should be a favorite over any college team, anywhere.
USC's next opponent, Arizona State, is 64th in the "Predictor", more than 30 points behind USC. Maybe that should make USC fans nervous.

About Inside USC

Scott Wolf has covered USC for the Daily News since 1996. A USC graduate, he covered his first Trojan game in 1984 for the Daily Trojan. Scott is known as the "scourge of the Internet message boards," according to radio host Petros Papadakis. Despite this moniker, there's no truth to the rumor he takes pleasure in antagonizing the "Internet geeks."
