USC currently has just one ranked team (No. 25 California) on its schedule the rest of the season. No. 1-ranked Texas' next three opponents (Missouri, Oklahoma State, Texas Tech) are a combined 17-1.

It was hard to root against ND Saturday because a road win against ranked UNC would have likely resulted in the Domers breaking into the rankings.
USC will have to win out and hope for alot of one AND two loss teams. Other one loss teams can climb back up and jump USC with impressive wins. Ex: Florida

Do expect Tejas to lose one, maybe two, games this season. Probably no team will go undefeated, unless it might be BYU which has the best chance and the easiest schedule.

I was split, confused and with mixed feelings whether to root for ND or NOT. Beating a ranked ND would definitely help USC as you pointed out. You also forgot USC's goldfish charm or trump card(your pick!): Ohio State University. USC fans need to root for OSU when they play PSU. Assuming OSU wins the Big 12 and USC doesn't go to the NCG then USC VS OSU in the RB. Another possibility is UVA cracking the top 25. Don't laugh. Let me break it for you: MD beat Cal, UVA beat MD 31-0. UVA beat ECU this past Saturday. You got me(!)?
Stay tuned!

SC is going to lose again , so it really doesn't matter. You can not be this poorly coached and not lose unless the Pac is totally worthless. Best thing for USC is to keep hiding in the Rose Bowl vs those even worse Big 10 teams.

Well said. I was thinking about buying an Ohio State hat for the stretch run. If the Bucks keep winning it will really help USC. I also have been keeping an eye on UVA and noticing a few quality wins by the Cavs lately.
Right now I'm thinking Tedford and Cal could be a real tough game even at home. The Bears have not beat USC in a while and they will throw everything they've got.

Yes Scott, this is their tough stretch. Their nonconference included the following murderers row:
Florida Atlantic
UTEP
Arkansas
Rice
That's what many of these teams from the Big XII and the SEC do, they schedule creampuffs and pansies and inflate their nonconference records to 3-0, 4-0, and in some cases 5-0. Then, when they play each other, the losing team doesn't fall very far in the rankings because, hey, they lost to an undefeated and ranked conference opponent. When they start playing teams like ND every year, tOSU, and Virginia (don't laugh, they've won a couple of games against quality opponents) we can talk. Until then, you and your cronies (your words, not mine) can suckle on the teet of the two power conferences you love so much.
FIGHT ON!

BIG Time correction:
OSU & PSU are in the Big TEN [NOT]in The Big 12 as I {incorrectly} stated. Sorry to the ANTI El Capitán camp but I beat you to it.
Trojan fans start rooting for Missouri against UT l_l's. In other words Trojan fans from now on every time there's a new number one you root for the team against them until USC climbs back to at least número DOS! For you gringos that is number two!
Viva Trojans!
