Did not even read his top-25 and will not for the rest of the season because some of his choices are intentionally ridiculous in order to catch a little notoriety on his blog.
As for the Arizona game, it unfolded much as some thought it would i.e. a tough, close game. For those looking for SC blow-outs these types of games must be very frustrating. But the reality is SC is not a juggernaut powerhouse. and even No. 1 Texas had problems yesterday.
Should be thankful just for a win.
Just go ahead and move LSU up to #4. You know you want to.
Florida loses AT HOME to the worst team in the SEC and you rank them third?
Well, no surprise our Wolfie keeps SC down the chart, and the way they played last night, you cannot really blame him.
Yet, if the Trojans played any team above it, guarantee it would be a vastly different result - ask Ohio State.
Still playing to the competitive level.
God forbid they should lose to Washington.
California, Notre Dame, UCLA, and Stanford still on the horizon - anyone think they can run the table?
I don't!
ps - Scott, don't forget Maryland and Virginia.
They are top 25 teams this year!!!
You just know that SW is foaming at the mouth, to move West Virginia up higher from #25. Question, Wolfeee do you really think that Florida's victory over UK was more impressive than the Trojans victory over WAZZU and Arizona? The snobs from Lexington, KY are completely injury riddled, and their QB spot is as bad as WAZZU's. So if you are going to credit Florida and that washout, then you better give total props to USC for slamming WAZZU and for shutting down Arizona.
Think about this, SEC vs. PAC 10, does not really mater, because Arizona is a better team than UK. So that should tell you how strong, tough and determine the Trojan defense is (Taylor Mays was a “MAN” on the field on the field last night).
Florida better be ready for “The World's Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party” next weekend, because the "doggies" from Athens, GA looked really good down in Death Valley.
So Wolfeee, why don’t you step out of your fantasy world, and live in reality when you are picking these top 25. Fight On!
Funny. You had Kansas at #16 last week. Yesterday they lose to Texas Tech at home 63-21. So you keep them at #16. This is a joke right?
LSU, who allowed 50+ points twice this season in two blow out losses is #10. Top 10 teams don't get blown out twice, doesn't matter who you play. You should base rankings on the actual games...
FYI - to you and all the other AP voters, Cal, who also has two losses, beat Michigan State this year, yet Mich. St. (also with two losses) gets a top 25 ranking.
Oregon's two loses are to top 15 teams (Boise St. & USC), yet they can't crack your top 25. But LSU, with two loses, stays at #10.
The Pac 10 isn't having the best year, but at least be fair.
You should lose your vote after this poll. Most of the inconsistencies have been mentioned but the one that really sticks out is your failure to notice LSU submitting over 100 points in thier 2 losses and they have NO quality wins! Thier only win over a ranked team is now unranked Auburn, and they barely posted the win there.
Please explain your reasoning regarding LSU, Kansas, SoFla, Cal and most especially Oregon!
Good points by all above on this one. I like LJ didn't even look at the SW poll.
The thing that I still can't understand for the life of me is why the hell is McKnight given the ball on 1st down with running plays in the A, and B gaps!?! This just makes no since to me at all, a sweep or even an off tackle play okay, but right up the middle are Stafon's or Stanly's carries. Still a win is a win, and Penn St. could only manage 13 points on Ohio St. so over all I think that SC will be in good shape if we win out.
Village idiot Wolf almost got it right. The AP (#7) and Coaches (#6) penalized Carroll and Sarkiffian because no offense has managed to do less with more; needing constant bailing out by the defense. Rey had it right when he said no one on the unit impressed him much. Sarkiffian has to go. It's time for Norm Chow to come home.
