It's too bad that money couldn't be spent on scholarships. Baseball has only something like 11 scholarships available and SC being an expensive private school is getting killed by the Fullertons, LBs, and Fresnos.

How come private schools like Stanford and Rice excel at baseball?

I bet CS Fullerton spends $20,000 on baseball recruiting. Yet they are the best program in CA.
The quality of the program recruits, not $$$.
