Q: Could Steve Sarkisian's adamant opposition to making a quarterback change be due to the fact that he does not want to publicly admit he made a mistake in picking Sanchez without a true open competition, and he knows this will raise questions about his personal judgment and decision making abilities as he attempts to get a head coaching job?
A: They think Sanchez is far ahead of the other quarterbacks. That said, no matter who plays quarterback, they would resist making a change because it means admitting a mistake.
Q: With all of the complaining, whining and crying (and that's just from you), do you or can you see PC making any changes to OC position for 2009? I guess a lot of this depends on if Coach Sarkisian is offered a position (and if he decides to take it). Have you talk Sark and can you asses whether he is feeling any heat at this time? Fight On!
A: Last week Steve Sarkisian said he did not read message boards or have time to worry about criticism. Lane Kiffin said the same thing. I don't see Pete Carroll making any changes at OC unless Sarkisian gets another job. I don't think he will get the Washington job but let's see what opens up in a few weeks.
Q: The reason that is always provided for why Sanchez is the starting quarterback is because he knows the offense better due to length of time in the system. Let's say that Sarkisian leaves after this season to become a head coach somewhere and maybe even Carroll finally leaves for the NFL. In that scenario, Sanchez has no advantages regarding knowledge of the Sarkisian playbook. Does that mean he could be replaced by another quarterback next season due to the playing field finally being equal and decisions based on actual talent and ability?
A: If a new coach came in, everything would be equal although the new coach would no doubt respect he has a QB with 15 starts under his belt. So Mark Sanchez would have an obvious advantage. But the new coach would use practices to judge for a final decision.
Why don't we just decide to replace all 3 of you at your current jobs (if you each have one) because of your lack of common sense?
Sanchez didn't come out of nowhere. He was a nationally recruited qb after being named the played of the year.
He has a 3-1 ratio of td's to int's in his first full season starting.
He has a gun, he has toughness, he has mobility and escapability, he has total respect from his teammates and is the leader of the team. You want to kick him to the curb because he isn't perfect? Because he's made some mistakes? You want to see different mistakes made by a different qb?
Because that's what you're going to see if USC just decides that having a very good qb who is going to be a great one (and there aren't even half a dozen great ones out there in college football each year)next year isn't enough.

Mark this: When Barkley has his struggle days in 2010 and/or 2011 you guys will be saying he needs to be replaced and so on and so forth...
