Answer Wednesday! (SG Forum)
Another vital question regarding the selection process.
Q: This is the way I understand the current situation (and you are welcome to correct me if I am incorrect):
A) The USC Song Girls have no affiliation with the athletic department and are completely under the jurisdiction of the Intramural and Recreational Sports department.
B) The Trojan Dance Force are wholly under the jurisdiction of the athletic department.
So if this is accurate, why are there employees of the athletic department involved in the selection process of the Song Girls and getting involved in their propaganda campaign? Why are the Dance Force not afforded the same assistance and opportunities and appear to be neglected by the very department which actually has jurisdiction over them, while an entity (the Song Girls) which is not under their jurisdiction is getting the treatment which should be received by the Dance Force?
A: This speaks to a key issue. It is really inappropriate and a conflict of interest for athletic dept. to be members of the selection committee. They often ``know'' who is from the preferred high schools or South Bay and this just creates more appearances of nepotism and cronyism.

Former Song Girl Natalie Nelson, the ultimate conflict of interest, is back in the news with force -
