Pete Carroll on Texas not making the Big 12 title game.
``That makes no sense to me,'' he said. ``said. ``They're going to say the other team (Oklahoma) is better when they played head-to-head (and Texas won)?''

Tough one for Texas. Any chance that if Mizzu beats OU badly, Florida or Alabama win handily, and we beat UCLA 100-0 that we could gain enough points to pass Texas? Surely there is a mathematical possibility, at least. Texas did get screwed. The Big-12 should only use rankings to eliminate one of the three tied teams (in this case, Texas Tech), and then revert back to the head to head. Always revert back to the head to head whenever possible, I say. The only bummer is that Texas got screwed by the Big-12, and not the BCS. Yet.....

Or, is there a mathematical possibility for USC to jump Florida, if Florida beats Alabama in a close, ugly game and we destroy UCLA? I doubt it, but by season's end, Scott's beloved SEC has really been exposed. There are only two top 15 teams left - Bama and Florida. Up to now, Florida's best win is @ Georgia, now ranked #17/19. USC at least has a win over a top 10 team in Ohio St.

In reality, the current BCS system works. Well as long as you don't have (6) one loss teams and you don't have (4) undefeated teams (with 3 of those teams being from weaker conferences) in the Top 12.
It works as long as you don't have (3) one loss teams from the Big 12, and you don't have Texas Tech playing a non-conference schedule that includes Eastern Washington, Nevada, SMU and UMass, and you don't have Mack Brown crying, whining and pimping at every chance that he has, to play in the BCS title game.
It works, as long as you have real sports writers casting legitimate AP votes, unlike like Wolfeee.
Ok, I guess the BCS systems works as well as the economy is does right now (It's all screwed up). Fight On!
