I really wonder why they can't get somebody who's much more seasoned for the offensive coordinator position. Might that be because of Carroll's ego problem to preside as the King of the program all by himself?

What is with all of the PC bashing lately? Everyone needs to take a step back and remember where the program was before PC. Yes, I want to see 40 to 50 points a game from the "O". Yes, I want this program in the BCS championship game every year. However, with a 9 - 1 record and still having a shot at the title game, I'll take what PC is doing right now. Since when did everyone on this blog become a better coach than PC? Oh yeah, I forgot that Wolfeee is the greatest football coach ever. Fight On!

"a 9-1 record and still having a shot at the title game..."

Why are some of us so delisional???!!! We ARE NOT going to the BCS title game! We lost to Oregon State! We just might get into a BCS bowl mostly because of our tradition, mostly clean record, and the fact that we will travel well to Arizona but puhleaze folks, stop living in a dreamworld where we still have a shot at the BCS title game! Live in reality! Reality is fine this year, we just seriously goofed up in Corvallis and that is that. So we didnt do what we needed to to get in The Game, we just go forward and wait until next year to see which Pac10 team we will fall asleep on and lose to again!

Don't cry Coach, you sound like Denny Green...

When will people realize that Oregon State is a good team.

USC has a long history of losing a game in the Northwest. Look it up. Even McKay's teams lost games they should not have. Arizona, 1978???

It's football, teams sometimes lose. It happens.

Everyone was bitching about going to the Rose Bowl again...now, everyone is bitching because we are probably not going to the Rose, but probably the Sugar or the Fiesta and boo hoo...

we will be 11-1, BCS bowl and top 4 when we win for the 7th straight year. And with our schedule, we should be the favorite to win the BCS the next 2 years...that is an amazing run! the best ever...

Maybe The Coach is Paul Hackett????

Being the favorite is nice and all, but being the champion is what counts.

OSU is a good team, but to the rest of the country they're just that Pac10 team that got beat by Penn St so nationally we have no credibility to make a title run because of that loss. If our O shows up to more games than just the lowly Washington schools, then we make a serious case for the BCS title due to how we have played and we should have dominated other teams with more 30 pt+ victories.

Our offense is doing well enough to be favored against any team in the NCAA.

Fact.

So what is the discussion about?

This blog is beginning to morph into the sickly, whiny, SEC type.

God help us! Will we all have to grow mullets?

I don't know what happened to Oregon State at Penn State, but if the Beavs get in the Rose Bowl I predict it will be a very different game this time around, and would not be surprised if the Nittany Lions go down. OSU looked tough against Cal last weekend.

SC would be favored against any other school this year?-- I would not like to play Florida with Tebow.
- Oklahoma, Texas and Texas Tech have great quarterbacks so I would not like to play them either.
- I'd take Alabama. Or Penn St if OSU loses to Arizona.

I agree that the PAC 10 lost National Credibility. But, When Oregon State lays the wood to Penn State in Pasadena, we will be vindicated. However, if SC is not in the NCG, they will finish 3rd after beating Alabama in the Sugar Bowl.

The voters have let it be known that they will not allow a 1 loss SC team in over a 1 loss FL team or any team from the Big 12. They will probably let in a 3rd Place TX team into the BCS NCG over the Trojans...go figure.

The Bill Snyder Rule comes back to bite the PAC 10 again...

USC will probably end up against the winner of the Michigan State/Penn State game in the Rose Bowl, because OSU is a great home team, and not such an amazing team on the road.

As for the title shot, yes, we still have one. It probably would take Florida State at home upsetting Florida, or Auburn beating Alabama for the 7th straight time, or Missouri winning a rematch against the Big XII stouh champion, but any of those upsets puts us in possible contention for a #2 ranking in the BCS if we win out. Right now, our chances look better than Florida's did at the same in 2006, or LSU's did at the same in 2007.

Tomorrow's poll needs to ask the same question with the following answers:

1. Satisfied
2. Almost satisfied
3. Kinda satisfied
4. A little more than somewhat satisfied
5. Slightly more than somewhat satisfied
6. Barely more than somewhat satisfied
7. Somewhat satisfied

This will stratify all the weak asses who aren't happy with a 9-1 team that will finish 12-1 after beating Penn State in the Rose Bowl.

We are witnessing the greatest run in Trojan history. Bask in it's glory!
The offense will improve, but it is the defense that has cost this team so dearly this year. Their first half off up in Corvallis will live in infamy.
Let's focus on the rest of the huge rivalry games that are still on the schedule. Let's honor this group with our support and cherish these last few games with this group of seniors. If someone asks us to play after that...and they will...then so be it.
Figh On!

Hey Keith15:

As usual, you make good points. I do have one bone to pick. You stated that "it is the defense that has cost this team so dearly this year." We all agree that the defense had a bad first half against Oregon St., although the offense deserves equal blame for being shut out in the first half, and going 3-and-out a bunch of times.

The defense has been stellar since then (until the first half against Stanford). Remember, the TDs by Oregon St. (2nd half) and Arizona were after Sanchez turnovers that gave the opponents a really short field. Moreover, the defense clearly deserves credit for the close wins against Arizona and Cal. (That doesn't include the shutouts against ASU, WSU and Wash, although the offense performed better in those games.)

I'm not bashing PC at all. In fact, all of us in the Land Of Troy owe him so much for having our football program back on the national map again. That said, we must look at the fact that our football team could do better. Instead of not coming to play in one of the conference games in each year, there's got to be something that could be done about making them become hungry and focused in each and every game whatever that may be. The coaches must find the solution to that sooner than later.
