Defensive end Clay Matthews missed practice because of an ear infection caused when offensive tackle Charles Brown poked Matthews in the ear during practice last week. Offensive guard Jeff Byers sat out with a sore shoulder. Tailback Joe McKnight (turf toe) practiced but his foot will probably be sore the rest of the season, Carroll said.
Safety Kevin Ellison (knee) is expected to do some running this week with the hope he returns for next week's game against Notre Dame.[
