Mays In Mix

Taylor Mays broke up four passes against Cal because this was a rare game when a team attempted to challenge him. Usually, teams choose against throwing deep on the Trojans' zone defense. He also intercepted a pass that was called back on a penalty.

It also looked like he could have intercepted the last pass Cal threw but just batted it down to end the game.

Can't blame teams not wanting to throw Mays way. Some of those hits were wicked.

Mr. Mays also let receivers deeper than him numerous times during the game. I think Cal saw a week spot and tried to capitalize. Once they changed to Riley, the threat was over.
