Maybe the readers can help out a fellow questioner with the last question in this segment.

Q: How many loses would USC of had this year if they played an SEC schedule that also included the predictable out of conference cupcakes like Tulane, Western Kentucky, and Arkansas State?

A: USC would no losses if they played the typical SEC non-conference schedule. But would USC beat Alabama, Florida and Georgia?

Q: Amazon.com lists a book from 2005 co-authored by Pete Carroll called "The Competitive Edge: A Winning Approach to Playing Hard and Having Fun" (www.amazon.com/Competitive-Edge-Winning-Approach-Playing/dp/0345485645) but the book doesn't actually seem to exist anywhere. Was the book ever actually published? Any insights into what happened there?

A: I've never heard of this book but I'll ask around to see what happened.

Yes, they would beat Alabama, Florida, and Georgia because they get pumped for the big games. The problem would be against Auburn or Vandy or some other crap team we look past because those are the teams that beat us time and again.

I don't think Oregon State is a crap team by any means. IMO, they could have played another 4 qtrs that night and the result would not have changed. USC was getting their asses handed to them on the LOS on both sides of the ball all night long. That team has weapons and is a quality team without a doubt. If they are w/o J. Rogers and the mobile QB (Maevo ?)...maybe not so much

Scott,

You never answered the question, How is the 2010 football recruiting class?, please answer it.

Also, I think USC is ranked correctly in the system since unlike Florida, Oklahoma, Texas Tech, and Texas we cannot play well on offense. We would lose since are strength the defense has not faced top players. Tim Teabow, Sam Bradford, or Colt McCoy. Also, if Oklahoma exposed Graham Harrell what hop does Mark Sanchez have. Also, our line is too young and our playcalling has no deep passes, so there will be more guys in the box to stop the run.

With wins vs mighty Troy,App.ST, No.Texas,Tulane, unranked SoCarolina,Auburn,Miss.St..and Ol Miss..errr, oops they lost that last one..If (only) 4 loss LSU were to find a way to upstage mighty Arkansas this weekend, don't forget to consider that it would be a road win to boot! what are their chances of jumping back into the top 10? Would the BCS then, (especially after consulting your published AP ballot for expert guidance).. consider upgrading their ranking to thus include them in their hometown Sugar (BCS) Bowl? Say against Ball St?
