More Green
Earlier this week, we wrote about rumors Broderick Green was transferring. Green denied it, of course, but after the game the locker room was buzzing that he is gone. No one from USC officially confirmed it but it's been coming for weeks.

It's for the best, after putting up 121 yards against Washington State he gets no carries vs. Arizona. Given, WSU was a blowout and he was getting garbage time yards while Arizona was a closer, he earned him a few carries in a real game. Then in the Washington game they give the late carries to Marc Tyler. It probably looked like he hadn't moved up the depth chart at all.
Best of luck to him, hopefully they don't let him go to a Pac-10 school.
If he's gone, I hope he makes a better choice then Moody did when he went to Forida. Good luck to you!
Nothing mentioned in his talk about "Playing time"
"Family issues have led to Broderick Green telling coaches he intends to transfer.
Broderick Green will leave USC
Green told Trojan coaches of his plans late this past week."
Real story from USC
Story below:
"Tailback Broderick Green has asked for and received a release from his scholarship, effective at the conclusion of the fall semester, Coach Pete Carroll announced.
Green, a redshirt sophomore from Little Rock, Ark., cited health concerns with his grandmother as the reason for his departure.
“Because of unforeseen family health issues with my maternal grandmother who raised me and my mother, I have asked the University of Southern California to grant me a scholarship release at the end of the semester,” Green wrote in a statement. “Over the last few weeks, as I have tried to maintain the desire to be a part of the USC football family, a stronger desire to be closer to family in this time of need has emerged.”
Green has rushed for 168 yards and three touchdowns on 32 carries this season, including a 121-yard performance against Washington State on Oct. 18.
“Broderick’s been a great kid in our program and we’re going to miss him,” Carroll said. “We wish him the best and look forward to seeing him get settled in wherever he ends up in the future.”
Green had nothing but positive things to say regarding USC.
“Coach Carroll and his staff have been exceptional people, instructors and friends,” Green wrote. “I have learned so much from him, and I want to express a sincere appreciation to the staff for supporting me and giving me this wonderful opportunity.”
Green has stopped practicing and will concentrate on academics as he finishes up the fall semester at USC.
“As I move forward, I will continue to support the team and this fine University for the opportunity they gave me,” Green wrote. “However, my desire to be closer to my last living grandparent outweighs any personal, selfish [or] athletic goals I might have as an individual.
“Family must always come first.”
