About Inside USC
Scott Wolf has covered USC for the Daily News since 1996. A USC
graduate, he covered his first Trojan game in 1984 for
the Daily Trojan. Scott is known as the "scourge of the Internet
message boards," according to radio host Petros Papadakis. Despite this
moniker, there's no truth to the rumor he takes pleasure in
antagonizing the "Internet geeks."

No, although if we played in the SEC and got blown out every time we played a quality team (Georgia & LSU) then we could drop two games big and still stay in the top 10.
LSU was impressive with that 25 point win over Tulane (2-6) this weekend. And Georgia really took it to FCS school Georgia Southern with their 24 point win on opening day. Brutal schedules, and they still manage huge margins of victory over these powerhouse opponents.
Oregon St. played better than Ohio St., Texas Tech, Penn St., Florida or any team for two quarters. Downplay it all you want, but they were good.
USC would and should be favored against any team in College Football this year. No betting person will argue that, but one loss is one loss when it comes to polls. But for any pollster to rank any one loss team ahead of USC is bad judgement.
Alabama, Penn St. and Texas Tech are unbeaten and deserve to be ranked higher till they lose. If they don't, then they should go to the BCS Championship as they earned it.
USC is a better team than Florida, Texas or Oklahoma and would be favored against those teams, even if they played them in their stadiums. To rank them higher is illogical.
You really believe SC would be favored in Florida, Texas and Oklahoma's home court with the great quarterbacks they have at each of those schools? If so, I would not take the bet. Now, a neutral field, perhaps.
I went to the game at Oregon State a couple of years ago, and I thought it was a tough place to play-- it is cold, the fans are on top of you, and the fans are loud with every defensive play. Same at Oregon.
And so it may not be a coincidence that this is 3-years running that the Oregon schools have prevented SC from going to the championship game (2008 is not over, but the odds are awfully long).
