About Inside USC
Scott Wolf has covered USC for the Daily News since 1996. A USC
graduate, he covered his first Trojan game in 1984 for
the Daily Trojan. Scott is known as the "scourge of the Internet
message boards," according to radio host Petros Papadakis. Despite this
moniker, there's no truth to the rumor he takes pleasure in
antagonizing the "Internet geeks."

Now that Sarkisian has openly started criticizing Sanchez in the media by saying Sanchez does not do the things he is supposed to do, who do you think is more to blame for the issues with the offense, Sarkisian or Sanchez?
Has SC heard about Alex Stepheson's pending waiver? Coach Floyd said either Wednesday or Thursday.
What do you think of Tim Floyd's pattern of signing mostly wing/point guard types? It sure seems as though he should be getting commits from more post players, seeing as how Wilkinson and most likely Gibson are gone after this year. What gives?
Looks like the annual ' leave our OC alone ' blitz is on. Wolf do they approach you to join it and help them out or do they just try and stay away from you ?
When the inevitable staffing cuts come around again and the Daily News follows the Times with having one writer cover both blogs will you or Dohn get the axe?
Isn't the real reason Steve Sarkisian has his current position at USC, along with his extremely high salary, due to the fact that he and Pete Carroll (along with Lane Kiffen) all have the same agent? When it comes to salary negotiations, could that not be considered a conflict of interest?
How has WR Brice Butler been progressing in pratice?
Who is more guilty of shameless and embarrassing pandering: Ben Malcolmson or Pete Arbogast?
All big recruiting news will be on hold till the end of the year?
"Our OC is one of the best in the country! The best one is across town and hasn't been able to save the Bruskies yet." -Me
What are your realistic expectations for the basketball team this season? What would be a best case scenario for this team?
Broderick Green was given only five carries and Marc Tyler had sixteen carries against Washington. Why was Green given so few carries and Tyler so many despite Green playing well two weeks ago when Tyler was injuried? Also, why is D.J. Shoemate not given any carries and why are Brandon Carsweell, Travon Patterson, and David Ausberry not given more playing time at all or when the lead is big?
Vidal Hazelton is not redshirting since he lost his chance by barely playing against Arizona and not getting any plays his way. Despite being the leading receiver from last year, why is Vidal Hazelton not playing so much despite the team saying he is part of the game plan and finally healthy? Is a reason Pete Carroll getting revenage on him for the letter that was made public written by Hazelton's father to Pete Carroll about USC lack of medical treatment to his son?
When you said what were your possible top three accomplishments of Carroll at USC, you failed to mention the two national championships. Was this an oversight or do you think these other accomplishments are better?
What does Pete think of the "big balls Pete" chants often heard on fourth and short?
How would you say the newly selected Song Girls compare to this years sorry squad?
HI WOLFIE
What was the general feeling of the players in the locker room after the Oregon State loss---was it more like, sick to the stomach, or, who cares,or, just how would you describe it? What was your sense of the players reactions and feelings overall, taking into account there must have been some wide individual reactions?
If by some chance you didn't go into the locker room, what was your sense of the overall reaction next time you were with the team? As always, thanx.
Scott, would you say Mike Riley out-coached PC this year? Thanks.
It appears to me that the local outlet of the Chicago Tribune has about 4 or 5 of their sportswriters doing, like, triple the work of 6 months ago, while at the same time, hiring some people who may be high school journalism students working free just for the experience for all I know.
What is happening with the sports dept. in the paper you work for,Scott? Thanks for anything you feel comfortable talking about here.
Have you considered making a section to a ask question to a player similar to the one you have with Pete Carroll?
If SC goes to the Rose Bowl, and Penn St. goes to the title game, isn't it like 100% or 99% that we get Ohio St. as our opponent[horrible] because of that dumb PAC 10-BIG 10 pact?
Well, the Nittany Lions went down, so please scratch that one, Scott, maybe I can think of a better one.
More likely to happen in 2009: Taylor Mays goes on a date with Lauren Conrad, Joe Mcknight goes a game without a fumble, Mark Sanchez goes pro, Ben Malcolmson becomes the writer for Caesar's sf49ersripsit.com, Chad Kreuter gets fired, the new song girls go through a year without scandals, or the Galen center fixes its soft serve?
Steve Sarkisian has told the media that Sanchez does things he is not supposed to do and frustrates the coaches (as mentioned in a previous question by another reader) and now Carroll has also told the media that the coaches no longer want Sanchez to throw the ball downfield, but want him to hand off and emphasize the running game. Is this their admission they no longer have faith in Sanchez, especially in their vocal denunciations of his play to the media, which they never did previously with other QBs?
Can you give us some insight into how the Broderick Green situation progressed?
Such as how long has he been frustrated by his place in the depth chart, how vocal has he been, do his teammates empathize with him or are they disturbed by his stance, was Marc Tyler getting more carries against the Huskies the last straw, do the coaches worry that others will follow his lead out the door, where may he possibly end up.
Thanks
With Broderivk Green transferring, how is the progress of Curtis McNeal? Also, is USC recruiting any running backs this year since after next year Johnson, Gable, McKnight, and Bradford may all leave for the NFL,(Johnson will be a senior)?
