Post-Game Thoughts

The game is not over but it might as well be. This game makes one wonder what USC would really do against a good team? Today's game plan was perplexing. I'll be interested to hear if they thought Stanford's defense was so good, they needed to be conservative. Or will they say since Mark Sanchez missed a couple early passes, he needed to throw short stuff?

You know what Scott, who really cares about your lame way of thinking. IT'S A FREAKING VICTORY. IT'S REVENGE AGAINST THAT PUNK HAIR-BAUGH AND THOSE IDIOTS FROM PALO ALTO. If your so hell bent on bashing USC for everything that they do, then why don't you take your chome dome over to FUCLA, and live off of Neu-weasels cheating ways. Fight On!

It will be good if USC can finish with a winning record this year!

Lousy Coaching costs them so many games!

What's their record in November now 0-25?

Scott! Wake up and smell the coffee.

Didn't Stanford beat Oregon St.?

The thing that throws your judgement off is your SEC worship and media putdown of the Pac 10.

Wolf, did you miss the 35-3 beating USC gave OSU? What do you consider a good team? Teams only from the Big 12 or SEC? USC will get a shot at one of them if OSU wins out.

USC didn't go conservative, USC ran the ball like they should have done all game long. We all know Sark sucks but you seriously know NOTHING about football. Stick to the gossip garbage that you usually post, that's what you're best at.

I think our offensive coaches are like bad officials in that they insert themselves into the game where they don't need to. We run too much motion, too many misdirections, too many high-risk, low reward type plays. This is one of the most talented offenses in college football, yet the play calling makes it seem like we need trickery to win.

One thing that made the great teams of ol' so special is everyone knew exactly what we were doing and the offense succeeded because it had the superior athletes and executed to perfection.

Petes refusal to admit he makes poor hires to handle his offense is going to cost USC at least 4 BCS title game opportunities. Pete would rather stick with his guys than win championships.

Considering the talent this team has, this offense is worse than the Paul Hackett/Hue Jackson teams. But funny how no one wants to talk about it.

Whatever, we scored 45!

Scalum, you called it! I am so sick of seeing guys run thirty yards sideways and 2 yards up field. When we finally got our act together in the second half and started putting the head down and running towards the opposite goal, we made first downs. Isn't that astonishing?

If the Beavers win their last two games, we may get a shot at what Scott calls a real team. I'd like to see the result of that.

I'm with buslu, 45 up on the board. I'm only sorry that it couldn't have been 65 and that someone didn't get a sideline shot on that crap-head "Hair-baugh". Funny, I didn't anyone could surpass Neu-weasel as the class-act of Pac 10, but Hair-baugh has risen to the top after tonights game. I cannot wait for next years game in LA. I want to see Pete really put it to mindless idiot. And of course Wolfee will continue to find fault no matt what USC ends up doing. Fight On!

Ya, imagine if SC played a good team like Troy who is blowing out #9 LSU (per a certain AP voter's ballot)31-4 with 5 min left in 3rd qtr...

Wait... They are in the SEC right?.. So LSU win drop to #10 per a 'certain AP voter'... right???

I think I've been in denial about the play calling until tonight. Some of Sark's calls in the first half were bewildering. I know with the talent USC has it shouldn't matter, but it's so predictable and conservative that when the offense struggles there's just no spark. It seems like the most unpredictable Sark gets is the reverse or play action -- like we're stuck in 1993.

If I see Sanchez roll out one more time I'm going to scream. Mix it up! With CJ, Stafon, and Joe he can't at least try some new things? I'm not saying he goes full wildcat formation (that experiment was bizarre and stupid) or even spread, but can't he at least try something besides the same 20 plays he's been calling since he took over?

I never thought I'd say this, but Pete: it's time to replace Sark. Bring some life to the offense.

Wow!!!

I didn't know a "Beat Writer" could hate a team so much that he is covering.

Well, I think we're all in agreement here, Sark sucks at calling the offense.

I just want to chime in that I liked watching this on Versus HD. It's way better than when ABC does the game and won't spring for HD cameras.

I now believe that more people are starting to figure it out this season---Sark really isn't a great OR good offensive coordinator....he does call the same 15-20 plays every game and has done so the last 2 seasons. He tries to get cute early on passing so much that our O-line forgets to be physical and impose their will on a D-line. I think PC protects Sark way too much and Sark protects Sanchez too much....How bout we stop making excuses, getting too cute with the bootlegs and stick to whats working all year-the run game! I don't want to see Sanchez wet his pants again when he feels heat in the pocket....he looks like a 4 year old kid lost in a grocery store...no clue where to go or what to do.....so he just sits down (gets sacked or falls down) and we lose ANOTHER possession to Greg Woidneck and his foot. I hope Sarkisian gets offered a job somewhere this season so we can start anew with someone a bit more aggressive and that has more than 20 plays written on his sleeve.

Sark is the worst! They throw once between the hash marks and it goes to Havili for a long TD, we need more downfield passing...pleeeeeease.

oh oh.. LSU won.. therefore they'll move up from #9 to at least #8 this week in the AP poll by 'thee certain voter'...

SECTION 12 ROW 52 Author Profile Page said:

A certain New England Patriot Head Coach recently said USC's offense is as sophisicated as any in the NFL. Maybe that is the problem.....a little too complicated for college kids. We are clearly thinking too much and not being aggressive. When the offense is simplified like it was in the 2nd half, the talent begins to comes out.
