Real Question of the Night:

Will Scotty keep LSU ranked in the top 25 this week? Heck, you kept them at #9 after barely beating Troy at home after being down by 28 in the 2nd half.

Let me guess, you'll probably drop them to #13?

Can't wait to get my weekly laugh--at your AP vote.

Let's hear some justification for why a 3-loss team was ranked #9 last week, and for where you put LSU this week. You get a public vote--defend it.

USC should be ahead of Texas Tech, who now has no business being considered for the BCS title game after this blow-out. Thus, USC should be fifth. USC needs Oklahoma St. to put a similar whooping on Oklahoma next week. That puts USC fourth. USC then needs to hope for some upsets (Fla St-Fla, Auburn-Alabama, or Texas A&M-Texas).

Unfortunately, if Oklahoma St beats Oklahoma next week, and Texas and Texas Tech each win their last game, then Tech would go over Texas to the Big 12 Championship, as they own the head-to-head tiebreaker (Oklahoma would have two losses in conference under this scenario). If Tech were to lose to Baylor (yeah, right), then USC would have a legitimate shot at the BCS title game if Missouri beat Texas in the Big 12 Championship.

In any event, Texas might sneak in against the winner of Ala-Fla, even though it may not play for the Big 12 Championship. (Nebraska did so previously, when it was hammered by Colorado, but nudged out Oregon for the right to play Miami in the title game in the Rose Bowl). USC needs Oregon State to lose next week for it to be considered against other one-loss teams. (Arizona absolutely choked at the end....nice pass defense.)

At this point, the best bet is USC is in the Fiesta Bowl against Texas, while Florida plays Oklahoma in the BCS title game. My hunch is that Oklahoma wins next week against Oklahoma St, which will cause it jump ahead of Texas in the final BCS standings (even though Texas beat them at a neutral site), and thus propel Oklahoma to the Big 12 Championship game.

Or, we could just have a playoff and decide it on the field.

We will probably fall out of the top 25.

My prediction on BCS Standing after this weekend:

1. Alabama (No. 1 stays there ... for now)
2. Texas (stays ahead of Oklahoma for now with head-to-head win)
3. Florida (Should drop for scheduling Citadel. At least, Ole Miss showed today that it was no fluke in beating the Gators)
4. Oklahoma (Does its recent bowl losses weigh subconsciously like Ohio St's? Probably not with this blow-out)
5. USC (every Oregon State win diminishes the impact of USC's loss)
6. Utah (nipping at USC's heels)
7. Penn State (will play better in Rose Bowl than recent Big 10 also-rans like Mich and Ill.)
8. Texas Tech (o-v-e-r-a-t-e-d)
9. Boise St.
10. Ohio St.

Oregon St. better be ranked ahead of Texas Tech!

Texas Tech is NOT a top ten team.

They looked like Arizona St. type team.

Where is Arizona St. ranked.

Really though, let's not get carried away with Utah. I know they're undefeated, and I guess they're worthy of a BCS bid, but they're not in the league of any of the other elite teams.
#1. They were nearly beaten by the worst Michigan team in 6 decades.
#2. They would have lost to OSU had the Beavs not melted down. That said, the game was in Salt Lake City and OSU plays much worse on the road than they do at home... and it was a typical letdown game with the Beavs coming off the upset versus SC.
#3. They beat New Mexico and TCU by a combined 6 points.
#4. They scheduled Weber State. (and beat them by only 2 scores)
Like I said, they're going to the BCS and they deserve it, but let's be real. Florida would beat them by 30, Oklahoma by 25, Texas by 20, and USC by 10 (if we had a bad game) or 42 (if we played up to our potential) on a neutral field. Utah is not an elite team.

Also, speaking of carried away (or Carrier Dome) anybody catch that ND game versus the Orange? What an F'ing harassment for the Sisters of No Talent to lose to Greg Robinson in his get the F out of here game. Just ridiculous.

And what about Cal Poly almost winning at Camp Randall against Wisconsin. I happened to catch most of the second half of that game, and Cal Poly truly gacked that one away. The kicker missed THREE extra points and they still took them into OT. It reminded me a little of the Oregon State LSU game a few years ago when Alexis Serna missed THREE PATs and Oregon State lost by a single point in OT. Just unbelievable.

FIGHT ON!

There are now 3-4 good (deserving of the NC) teams left.

Florida
Oklahoma
USC
Texas (maybe)

The rest are imitators (just wait for Alabama to crumble).

Unfortunately, I think USC will be left out.

Agree w/ sureshot. The Wisconsin game was pretty funny. The Big X is truly a joke.

better question, will you only drop LSU to #10 since they only lost to another powerful SEC team.... it's only fair eh?

When was the last time SC got blown out like Texas Tech? You would have to go back before Pete Carroll.
