I think the whole quote from Beano "...easy games, just like my Notre Dame team."

Not sure if he was being funny or if his mind is about 10 years behind.

Sad to say, he's right. 3 straight years we've blown it...

Anyone with a shred of perspective has to be appreciative of the current BCS run. You guys are earning the pejorative nickname for U-S-C.

Yeah, but you shouldn't think there are easy games, which we didn't do for the last three seasons...Ouch!!!

I understand now why football coaches do not listen to the media or the fans.

First, the game of football is not an easy game. Everybody who plays is going to get "banged up." Even inferior teams will be putting a physical hurt on the superior teams.

Second, what is the definition of "easy game.?" Is it when a team is favored, no matter by how many points? Or does it have to be a double-digit points favorite?

Finally, even so-called easy games, when stacked back-to back-to back over a 12 game season do not make it likely that even a superior team will win them all. Every game, much as in chess, is different. Turnovers can kill you (Oregon State 2006, Stanford 2007), a great defensive performance can stop you (ucla 2006), or simply a good team playing hot at home can get you (Oregon State 2008).

Case in point: how many undefeated teams have there been over the ages?

Yeah, yeah. Buy low, sell high. Thanks, Beano.

What none of these analysts will cop to is the sad fact that unless USC went completely undefeated this year we would have heard the same sad refrain.

Which team in the Pac-10 would not be considered an "easy team" by these SEC/Big-12 biased experts?

And given Ohio State's performance the rest of the season, if we'd lost to them, would that too not have been considered a loss to an "easy team"?

Notre Dame? Virginia? Name one team on our schedule that would have been an "acceptable" loss.

No, my friends, unfortunately losing to the probably Pac-10 co-champions this year will always be seen by these fools as a stunning defeat at the hands of a just-shy-of-JuCo team.

For some reason I don't think playing a Top-20 Oregon State team in Corvalis qualifies as an "easy game".

Come, on. Beano is the guy who said Ron Powlus would win two Heismans and is forever quoted as saying that in order to win the Heisman you either have to play for ND or beat ND.

Trivia question: who has more chins, Weis or Beano?

Beano is clueless

Oregon St. is one of the best football teams in college football.

If "Shorty" their running back is healthy, they can compete at a very high level.

Reminds one of a Oregon St. baseball team. The "Beano's" never gave them any credit, but they won it all.

Bean thinks the 4 horsemen are still playing.

This, from the same guy that if he could have, he would have given the Heisman to Rick Mier, Ron Pawlus and Brady Quinn. Fight On!
