Honestly, this is a crime. LSU should be ranked at LEAST 6th, and probably in the top 5. I'd put them at #2, myself.

Greekpete Author Profile Page said:

Scott,

Please for the sake of honest journalism justify Texas Tech at #5! They were completely run off the field last night. But you ranked them above USC who lost once (on the road) to the eventually Pac-10 co-champ?

I really can't get mad anymore, because Wolfeee just continues to show how much he knows "NOTHING" about football. Fight On!

The only Top team Alabama would be favored against would be Texas Tech, but SW ranks them #2

Texas Tech by the slimest of margins earned their worth against Texas, USC and Florida would dominate them even more than Oklahoma.

How bad would LSU have to play to get out from under SW's Christmas tree?

Oklahoma St. does not have that good a team either but SW has them high enough he can put them above USC if they knock off Oklahoma at home.

Cal could beat either Missouri or any team ranked below them, but they can't get a spot.

Fortunately the actual AP poll does not reflect Scott’s insanity. SC is 5th, Texas Tech 7th and LSU is nowhere to be found.

CuervoDL Author Profile Page said:

Yes bob,
The real pollsters have USC at # 5 and have kicked the overhyped LSU to the curb.

Stupid.

The Trojans could climb this poll on style points against Notre Dame and a strong OSU win against the Ducks, followed by more style points against UCLA. As much as everyone is saying it would be good not to go to the Rose Bowl, Penn State would be a very great game for Trojan fans. You don't get to win the NC by not winning your conference. A #2 finish in the AP poll this year would be quite respectable.

Seriously, we're gonna have to hang 70 on Notre Dame and UCLA, and get help somewhere to have a shot at the NC game. I don't see it.

Thanks to a team brain fart in Corvallis, USC will once again miss out on playing for the crystal football. Nice going Pete and staff !!

I am shocked he was not able to get Vanderbilt and Tenn. in his Top 25 somewhere.

I mean they are in the SEC.

And where's the Auburn love?

These are interesting times in the newspaper business. Scott stops his stupid/controversial top 25 pick s and the outrages gradually wanes, hits to this blog decrease and the fast approaching demise of the Daily News is hastened. Scott is compelled to write what will get hits not what is truthful or correct. One day soon one of us will look up and see Scott delivering our mail or bagging our groceries.

kptrojan Author Profile Page said:

Hey SCinHB, I do believe that Wolfeee already has In-N-Out listed on his resume. Fight On!

Goliathtrojan Author Profile Page said:

I guess when TT hosted Eastern Wash, SMU and UMASS at the beginning of the season, that created a tough enough strength of schedule core, so that by merely losing to Oklahoma by 6 TDs on national tv, still gives them enough cred to land in Scotts top 5. Why that stupidity is slightly more rediculous than LSU remaining in the same poll. Hell, I thought that LSU was a national joke, turns out that Scott is!

BTW....Ga and OK St are also ranked too high Scott!

Wolf........you said that one of Carroll's top accomplishments is not being beat by more than 7 points except for his first year with an eleven point loss to ND. How can you put Texas Tech above SC when they got BLOWN OUT by Oklahoma?

Stop making sense! (stealing a line from the Talking Heads)

The BCS top 5 is accurate (fortunate Scott has no bearing). Alabama could lose to Auburn, but will be definitely exposed by Florida. Oklahoma and Texas deserve their 3 & 4 rankings, if not higher. We dug ourselves a hole and the good luck we needed hasn't happened yet. 2 weeks to go, and anything can happen. 2 upsets (i.e. FSU, Auburn, Mizzou, A&M, Ok St., etc.) and good game plans by Sark and we are playing for the BCS championship.

Fight On!

I think everyone has now figured out that this is how Scott makes his money All these hits come from the controversy of purposely ranking USC lower and SEC or today Tx Tech higher than what is fair. This is why Journalistic integrity is dead today, money. He should lose is voting rights however. It's not fair to the players. What we need is a real beat writer for USC and not a liar.

About Inside USC

Scott Wolf has covered USC for the Daily News since 1996. A USC graduate, he covered his first Trojan game in 1984 for the Daily Trojan. Scott is known as the "scourge of the Internet message boards," according to radio host Petros Papadakis. Despite this moniker, there's no truth to the rumor he takes pleasure in antagonizing the "Internet geeks."
