The 39-33 Texas Tech victory over then-No. 1-ranked Texas averaged 8,590,000 households based on a 7.5 rating, making it ABC's fifth-most viewed regular-season college football game (and the seventh-highest rated) ever. t was the most-viewed and highest-rated game this year.
The game is also the most-viewed and highest-rated Saturday Night Football telecast since November 25, 2006 - a 10,048,000 households and a 9.0 rating for a 44-24 USC victory over Notre Dame.
