Scott,
Seriously man! Downgrade USC for playing a BCS conference team that has won the conference in the past 20 years, whereas Alabama played a junior high school team, and Texas lost to a team that hasn't won the Big XII ever.
If the D-line didn't make a tackle that is a possitive thing. That means they are keeping the opposing linemen off the linebackers so that they can run free.
A joke of a grade for the DB's, Will Harris in his first start and Drew McCallister lead the team in the tackles and tackles for loss, while intercepting one pass. Cary Harris' break up lead to Rey's INT.
C for Special Teams is very low for a group that went 8 for 8 on PATS, had 4 touchbacks, net kick return was out to the 15 yard line (17.4 on kicks actually returned), had a 50 yard punt (only punt of the day) that also was downed inside the 20, and averaged 13 yards per punt return (that is a huge number).
Oh, and grading for one game, can't include a past game over a month ago.
Does Scott watch the game?
Scott,
In all due respect, what gives you the right to grade SC's performance?
To add to Keith's points, are you aware that on one of UW's only KO returns, the returner fielded it at the 5, and lost 3 yards on it? Maualuga blew up the middle of kick return and in the process shut off 2/3s of the field. Also, do you know how many college/pro kickers can consistently kick the ball out of the end zone, like Buehler? The answer is very few.
297 yards rushing, and that's a B- for the RBs? SC ran the most basic running plays the entire second half, and UW still could not stop them.
Also that was SC's 2nd & 3rd string defense shutting down a 1st string Div 1-A offense during the second half. Granted UW is weak, but they've still been able to score an average of 16 points a game until Saturday, and that was our backups holding them to 0 in the second half. No other team's starters were able to do that.
If "C" implies average, what would warrant an "A" for the coaching staff. I thought Carroll/Holt/Sark coached a great game.
Scott's "analysis" is the epitome of SC's problems with pollsters. Another great performance is discounted because of a weaker opponent. The conclusion is that SC can't really be this good, and that they are just benefiting from a mediocre conference. Assuming we don't go to the BCS championship game, almost every sportswriter will once again be questioning whether SC is really the best team in college football.
Fight On!
Scott "look at me" Wolfe accomplishes his goal with his AP ballot and grading posts, to draw attention to himself.
I read Scott’s blog for pure hilarity, and read the OC Register SC blog for fair and balanced reporting/commentary.
USC needs to start playing some real competition like the SEC does:
Tulane
Appalachian St.
North Texas
& Troy
Oh wait, that's LSU's schedule. Would any of those schools beat the Washington Schools?
Oh, yeah and LSU plays 8 home games, not a typo, that's EIGHT home games. Only four on the road.

I really hate all the Song Girl stuff but this Report Card is completely horrible and I wanted to defer attention to it as well as ruin Scott Wolf's "scoop" pictures that he was promising.
There's also a few other pictures of other former Song Girls there as well as a half dozen or so former Song Girls on Pete Carroll's website.
Hey Bookie, that can't be right. No less authority than Scott Wolf himself said that LSU's schedule is "murderous". I have a hard time believing that LSU's nonconference would be as weak as that. Surely, Scott would have researched their schedule before declaring it murderous. Especially after ridiculing Pete for calling SC's schedule "ridiculously hard".
Well, there must be some explanation... maybe Tulane, Appalachian St., North Texas, and Troy are better teams than Virginia, tOSU, and Notre Dame. They're not??? They're not even close??? That can't be. Here I've put my trust in Scott Wolf to do a good job of watching college football and researching the teams that he writes about and you're telling me he does none of the above?
Hmmn. My faith in mankind is now irreparably damaged.
FIGHT ON!
Don't forget Alabama's joke of schedule:
Clemson (coach fired), Western Kentucky, Tulane, Arkansas State, and they don't even play Florida.
How about Texas Tech?
Eastern Washington, Nevada, Southern Methodist, and Massachusetts. Scary huh?
Penn State you ask?
Coastal Carolina, Syracuse, Temple, but need to be lauded for playing and thumping those pesky Beavers.
Then there is Texas~!
Florida Atlantic, UTEP, Rice and Arkansas.
When I look at the top of the BCS I just laugh.
When was the last time a 11-1 team played in the Holiday Bowl?
If Professor S.Wolf actually taught a class, no one would take it because word would get out that he didn't even know that a traditional bell-shaped curve was supposed to look like a bell.
Your kicker wins Pac-10 player of the week honors and Professor S.Wolf passes out a C. "Yes Buehler, please read this over, correct everything I've marked in red, and please try to average more than 70 yards net on your kickoffs. I was disappointed in that 69 yard/kickoff net."
Hey Keith15:
You make excellent points, as usual. However, I don't think USC will go to the Holiday Bowl if it goes 11-1. Instead, USC very likely will be one of four at-large BCS teams (assuming Oregon St. wins the Pac-10).
