Answer Monday!

It's time for Answer Monday, which will performed under duress as I weigh a job offer to move to Seattle and start a new website: Washingtonripsitoff.com.

Q: If there are offsetting penalties, are the penalty yards added to the total yards penalized for each team? How about if a play is rerun because of a penalty on both teams

A: Offsetting penalties do not count in the official stats.

Q: There appears to be a lot of talk for you to start a Band Forum, but other than the fact that just about everyone -- from current/former band members and USC alumni -- want Art Bartner out, what else would be the point of that forum? How many different ways could people say they want Bartner gone? It would seem to be a single topic forum. At least with the Song Girl forum, there are a neverending list of issues to complain about.

A: Sounds like a pretty compelling point for a band forum.

Q: You recently wrote that if John Morton becomes the OC, you expect a continuation of the same offense as before rather than the installation of a new offense. But my question is this, would Steve Sarkisian not take his offense with him to Washington? Or are you saying USC and Washington will both have the same offense and playbook in 2009?

A: There are no copyright laws with offenses. Steve Sarkisian might throw in some personal touches with his his own offense but he will run the same basic offense. Lane Kiffin will run a similar offense at Tennessee. They can all change the terminology but run the same plays.

Q: I know it's a long shot, and this season wasn't what USC was expecting. But there is a possibility of a few upsets. What if Utah upsets Alabama in the Sugar Bowl, Ohio State defeats Texas at Fiesta Bowl, Oklahoma edges Florida in a tight game in the NC game and USC defeats Penn State at Rose Bowl. How would you vote the top five?

A: I don't like to predict my vote but it sounds like Oklahoma would be No. 1 in that scenario.

Q: Is Morrell Pressley considering a switch to UCLA?
Is Fangupo considering the same? I've read that both are interested in UCLA.

A: Pressley's considered UCLA pretty much since he committed. He is still committed to USC. As of right now. Hebron Fangupo committed early and then drew a lot of interest. He also is currently committed but as I wrote a few days ago, his inconsistent effort this season makes JC coaches some wonder if he will play much at USC.

Wolf , Bet you Kiffin starts riding around in a white van to the ghettos of Knoxville now. But I bet you the gangsta's will shoot Kiffin.

About Inside USC

Scott Wolf has covered USC for the Daily News since 1996. A USC graduate, he covered his first Trojan game in 1984 for the Daily Trojan. Scott is known as the "scourge of the Internet message boards," according to radio host Petros Papadakis. Despite this moniker, there's no truth to the rumor he takes pleasure in antagonizing the "Internet geeks."
